The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (June 24) NXT and AEW television shows.
Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 633,000 viewers for a .22 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 786,000 viewers for a .19 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.
For AEW, this is a huge plunge of about 139,000 viewers from the prior week, with a large decrease from last week’s 0.28 demo rating. For NXT, viewership increased by about 40,000 viewers from the prior week, though the demo rating was down from last week’s 0.20.
AEW dropped from 8th down to 17th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT slightly lowered from 25th to 26th place.
As you can see from these numbers, the main story here is AEW’s staggering drop-off in viewership, and a significant decrease in their demo rating. NXT has rarely been within striking distance of AEW’s demo rating, and that has now changed. But once again, it’s more because of AEW’s poor results; NXT’s demo rating did not increase from last week.
NXT’s viewership total hasn’t been this high since the end of February. Dynamite’s viewership reached its all-time low this week, so this was something akin to a worst case scenario for Tony Khan’s promotion heading into Fyter Fest next week.
