NXT made Keith Lee look strong heading into his champ vs. champ match on July 8

On June 24, NXT sent it home for the next couple weeks worth of loaded cards with a TakeOver worthy main event.

Keith Lee defended his North American title against Johnny Gargano and Finn Bálor in a Triple Threat. In addition to Lee’s belt, a shot at NXT champion Adam Cole was on the line. Whoever emerged from tonight’s show with the N.A. strap would have a chance to become a double champion on July 8.

Knowing that, you figure Triple H & team would want to put the winner over in a big way.

Did they ever.

Lee was dominant at the beginning. It took the combined efforts of both challengers to put him down or briefly take him out of the action. Then Lee was dominant at the end, hitting his Big Bang Catastrophe finisher on both men before pinning Bálor.

Cole came down at the end for a staredown. NXT has two hours to use to build toward that match in two weeks, but we’re ready now.

Who ya got?
