A Triple Threat title match next week sets up NXT’s Fyter Fest counter-programming

Tonight (June 17), NXT followed up on the premise they established last Wednesday... a whole lot of people are gunning to end Adam Cole’s historic NXT championship reign.

The ring filled up with guys who think they have a claim this week. First it was North American titleholder Keith Lee, then Johnny Gargano, and finally Finn Bálor - who last week threw out a challenge to Lee, too. They arrived to cut off the Undisputed ERA’s leader. Cole managed to get a few words in, but everyone was cut off by General Manager William Regal.

Regal said he loved the competitive spirit on display, and had just the answer for how to handle it.

That July 8 winner takes all champion vs. champion match is worth noting, for a whole bunch of reasons. Among them is that will be the second night of AEW’s PPV-like Fyter Fest cards for Dynamite.

We’ll see what else Triple H & team book to go against Fyter Fest. They lined up two other matches for June 24’s episode in addition to Lee vs. Gargano vs. Bálor:

- Another man who challenged Cole (and who lurked backstage tonight after the Panama City Playboy smashed the hour glass his partner Scarlett left for the champ last week), Karrion Kross, was challenged by Bronson Reed.

- Cameron Grimes slashed Damian Priest’s tires, so they’ll go one-on-one.

Excited for next week? Who do you think challenges Cole on the 8th?
