Right as WWE Backlash was going on the air, word was getting around that Edge had suffered a torn triceps during his match against Randy Orton that was taped the week prior. The match aired as planned and it was difficult to tell when exactly the injury happened, or if at all.
Now, WWE has confirmed that not only was the injury legitimate, Edge already underwent surgery for it.
WWE Digital has confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps as a result of injuries sustained during The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge has undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home.
A torn triceps could mean he’s out anywhere from 4-to-8 months. The timing is truly unfortunate, considering everything he’s been able to do since his return, but it sounds like there are already plans for him to be back.
“I think we’re going to see an even BETTER version of @EdgeRatedR, which is scary.” - @Christian4Peeps on the news of Edge’s injury at Backlash.
