According to Fightful (confirmed by Wrestling Observer and PWInsider), Edge tore his triceps while filming his Backlash match with Randy Orton last weekend. Depending on the severity of the tear, he could be out for 4 - 8 months.
More details about his prognosis will likely come out in the days to come as it’s worked into his storyline on Raw. WWE kept the injury quiet while Edge and Orton promoted their “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever”. That airs on WWE Network tonight (Sun., June 14).
This will be Edge’s first straight, no-gimmick singles match since 2011. If he’s to have another, it looks like he’s going to have to get through a tough rehab at 46 years old.
