Bookies aren’t expecting many title changes at Backlash

WWE.com

Given the latest backstage upheaval, Vince McMahon’s plans for Backlash PPV this weekend could probably change even more than the usual amount Vince McMahon’s plans change before any given WWE show.

Even when the creative team is stable, though, the most reliable “spoilers” from betting lines come via late money. Once the script is finalized and talent’s been informed how their matches are going to go, people in the know spread the word. That’s when the big, safe wagers are placed. Or so the theory goes.

Bear that in mind when you check the current odds for the June 14 PPV from Bet Online, where all the current champions are favored to one degree or another.

Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley

Drew McIntyre -950
Bobby Lashley +500

Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax

Asuka -600
Nia Jax +350

Edge vs. Randy Orton

Randy Orton -160
Edge +120

Braun Strowman vs. The Miz & John Morrison

Braun Strowman -1250
The Miz & John Morrison +550

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

Bayley & Sasha Banks 4/7
Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross 2/1
The IIconics 5/2

Apollo Crews (c) vs. Andrade

Apollo Crews -550
Andrade +325

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus

Jeff Hardy -140
Sheamus EVEN

Most of these are money line bets. In a nutshell, the name with a negative number next to it is the favorite, and you have to wager that amount to win $100. The name with a positive number next to it is the underdog; you will win the posted amount for each $100 you wager.

For example, a correct $1250 bet on Braun Strowman wins $1350. But if you place a $100 on The Miz & John Morrison in that match, you’ll get $650 back if they win.

The win odds for the multi-team match works the same way. Wager the second number, and you’ll get your original bet plus the first number back.

e.g. Sasha & Bayley are the favorites in the Women’s Tag title match. Bet $7 on The Role Model & The Boss, win $11 if they leave Backlash with the belts. Bet $2 on longshot IIconics, collect $7 at the window if they pull off the upset.

If you’re really interested in using these as spoilers, however, watch how they change as we get closer to the show. You can follow Bet Online on Twitter and do just that.
