We all figured WWE would announce more stuff for Money in the Bank tomorrow night (Sun., May 10). Six matches seemed light for a PPV, especially since the titular ladder matches will be contested simultaneously.
But I don’t think anyone figured the two matches they announced would be...
ALSO, @JEFFHARDYBRAND returns to the ring against @WWECesaro in the #MITB #Kickoff starting at 6 ET/3 PT on @WWENetwork! https://t.co/EwDA865Rxg

Sure. Why not?
MVP has gone from a per appearance booking to one of the most widely used performers on Raw every Monday. This showdown with 48/7 European Television title legend R-Truth comes after at least two retirement matches for Montel Vontavious Porter.
Jeff Hardy returned to SmackDown last night and is on a collision course with Sheamus. But first, a Kickoff showdown with his old partner in The Bar, Cesaro!
These matches are certainly random, but they should also be a lot of fun. What the hell... we’re in. At least it will give us an opportunity to relive Truth’s various - and brilliant - Money in the Bank gags.
Here’s an updated look at the card for tomorrow’s show from Orlando and Stamford, Connecticut:
- Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Aleister Black, Otis, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, and the winner of Raw’s Last Chance Gauntlet on May 4)
- Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Asuka, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Nia Jax, Carmella, and Shayna Baszler)
- Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman (c) for the Universal championshiop
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE title
- Tamina vs. Bayley (c) for the SmackDown Women’s championship
- The New Day (c) vs. Forgotten Sons vs. Lucha House Party vs. The Miz & John Morrison for the SmackDown Tag Team titles
- MVP vs. R-Truth
- Cesaro vs. Jeff Hardy (Kickoff match)
