Given that one of the television options last night (May 29) was watching the country burn, and another was something called Haircut Night in America, I’m not going to begin to try and guess why SmackDown drew its largest audience since April 17.
The hour-to-hour viewership and ratings among people under 50 do indicate that audiences weren’t disgusted by the Jeff Hardy’s “DUI arrest” segment, though. WWE & Fox gained a tenth of a ratings point in those demos and 14K viewers in the second hour of the show.
The 9 p.m. Eastern block helped SmackDown win the night among 18 - 34 year olds in the overnight network numbers.
