TakeOver special, Maverick title shot & Yim/LeRae booked for next week’s NXT

The final episode of NXT before TakeOver: In Your House will spend much of its first hour selling viewers on subscribing to WWE Network to get that show. Then, they’ll shift gears and offer one match that wraps up some old business and another that will be prelude to another TakeOver bout.

June 3’s 8 p.m. Eastern hour will feature a “Prime Target” special focused on the NXT Men’s and Women’s title bouts coming out way June 7.

Drake Maverick makes his latest last stand when he faces El Hijo del Fantasma in the finals of the Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. We don’t have much in the way of clues regarding the kidnappings Fantasma’s been foiling lately, and the pre-tournament abductions targeted wrestlers Kushida beat. Given that Drake is facing Fantasma and just inadvertently screwed Kushida out of the finals, he should probably be on the lookout for a mini-van full of luchadors.

Also set for next week is Candice LeRae vs. Mia Yim. LeRae’s husband Johnny Gargano challenged Yim’s boyfriend Keith Lee for In Your House at the same time the women’s match was announced, so look for a tie in.
