If you take one thing away from Undertaker: The Last Ride Chapter 3, let it be this

New, comments

The third chapter of WWE Network’s Undertaker: The Last Ride limited series event premiered yesterday (Sun., May 24).

Just like the first two, “End of an Era” is a must-watch for wrestling fans. The documentary is giving us an unprecedented look at Mark Calaway - the man behind the gimmick, and telling a damn compelling story about his quixotic quest for the perfect ending to his legendary career, all within one of WWE’s usual top notch productions.

Chapter three spends a lot of time looking back to the Dead Man’s collaborations with Triple H & Shawn Michaels, especially the series of matches from WrestleMania 25 - 28. It’s a smart way to work in an important bit of wrestling history while teeing up the next events covered during the period cameras were following Calaway for this series. Those being Hunter vs. Taker at Super ShowDown in Australia (which is shined up & presented as a match worthy of their rivalry and not the 30 minute slog I remember it as), and the Brothers of Destruction vs. D-Generation X debacle from 2018’s Crown Jewel.

That tag match is picked apart by all four participants, and positions Calaway as again seeking redemption for a bad potential career-ending match heading into chapter 4. That doesn’t arrive until June 14, and it’s going to be an agonizing wait. It’s probably the installment people have been most interested in since the series was announced, as it covers Taker’s even more infamous Saudi Match - the 2019 trainwreck with Goldberg.

So “End of an Era” is recommended, but if you can’t watch or choose not to, there is something you should not miss. And that is this NSFW outtake from Taker & Kane’s promo for the D-X match...

It’s actually the Mayor’s casual crotch chop that gets me even more than his partner’s f-bomb.

Let us know what gets you about anything from chapter three in the comments below.
