Just one night after wrestling Daniel Bryan in the first round of the Intercontinental championship tournament, word has gotten out that Drew Gulak is no longer under contract with WWE.
Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported he was released before PW Insider brought word that his contract simply expired. He has already been moved to the Alumni section on WWE.com.
Insider does report that the two sides had been actively working to come to terms on a new deal, but they were unable to do so before his current deal expired. That brings us to today, and the fact that he’s now on the open market.
He can, of course, sign a new deal tomorrow.
It’s worth noting that earlier today he was still working the storyline with Daniel Bryan on his Twitter:
Yes, #ThankYouBryan! A tournament requires great strength. Today let's work on our shoulders with what I like to call #Gulakmetrics! You can do this simple exercise anywhere! All you need is an immovable object. https://t.co/YRg7xqZEtT pic.twitter.com/nCYITpq1ow
