The most anticipated match of the night takes place in Stamford, Connecticut, but action at Sun., May 10’s Money in the Bank started in Orlando at the WWE Performance Center. And that action was The New Day defending their SmackDown Tag Team titles in a Fatal 4-Way against The Miz & John Morrison, Forgotten Sons, and Lucha House Party.
Under tag Fatal 4-Way rules, only two men are legal at any time. To start, that was Kofi Kingston and Lucha House Party’s Gran Metalik. But then anyone from any team can tag in at any time. Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler of Forgotten Sons were the first to take advantage of that, but Metalik was able to survive being isolated in their corner until Morrison could work his way into the match.
That led to our first big spot of the night - a Spanish Fly off the top onto the assembled masses at ringside!
Chaos was the name of the game from there, with frequent tags and almost as frequent nearfalls. That gave Metalik & Lince Dorado plenty of chances to show off.
It also gave The Sons’ third man, Jaxson Ryker, opportunities to get involved... until the referee threw him out after he pulled down the top rope and sent Large Epsilon crashing to the floor.
That signaled the beginning of the end. With the Sons and Miz & Morrison regrouping on the outside, Kofi took out Dorado with an enziguri, then E hit Metalik with the Big Ending.
