WWE MONEY IN THE BANK LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

Prepare to fight, unsheathe your scythe a ghastly beam of ill to slice the life with blinding light and seventh dimensional skill. The centuries of dedication inherited, till at last, from years of solar gladiation can only end in white heat, red hot, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show, folks.

The pre-show consists of Scott Stanford and Peter Rosenberg hanging out on a set and hyping up the show. At various points, Booker T, Renee Young, and John “Bradshaw” Layfield bust in with their own takes and predictions. New Day are interviewed backstage and talk about how they don’t run from challenges, and it could be a pancake on a pole match but they’ll always come out on top.

Cesaro vs. Jeff Hardy

Collar and elbow, Cesaro with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block for two. Drawing Hardy back up, back into the headlock, reversal blocked at first, Jeff gets his own, shot off, shoulder block, drop down, hip toss! Manhattan Drop, snapmare, blockbuster, action spills to the floor. Cesaro catches a dive and then puts Hardy into the barricade and then over it onto the floor!

Referee Chad Patton counts, Jeff makes it back in and the Swiss Cyborg puts boots to him! Stepping on his neck, an elbow gets two and Cesaro grabs a cutthroat choke. Whip reversed, Hardy charges in with an elbow, leg-feed mule kick sends the Swiss Cyborg to the floor! A dropkick keeps him out, Jeff goes to whip him but the whip is reversed and Hardy eats the barricade ribs-first!

Back inside, Cesaro with a diving leg drop... NOPE! Standing blockbuster, another two count, trading strikes with the Charismatic Enigma and Cesaro comes out on top with a Cobra Twist! Unzipping Jeff’s mesh shirt, overhand chop right to the nipple but Hardy gets away with a hip toss! Cesaro with a sliding forearm, beating him down but he just can’t put Jeff away!

Wrist-clutch reverse chinlock applied, Hardy breaks it with elbows and hits a jawbreaker that staggers Cesaro! Jeff bringing it with right hands, whip reversed, a crooked lariat knocks Cesaro down! Manhattan Drop to the double leg drop to the basement dropkick... NO GOOD! Twist of Fate blocked, Hardy up top but Cesaro cuts him off!

Jockeying for position atop the turnbuckles... WHISPER IN THE WIND! Cesaro fighting back in with uppercuts, Jeff with a backslide for two but the Swiss Cyborg hosses him up... TWIST OF FATE FOR THE COUNTER! Nearfall off the pin, scoop and a slam, Hardy up top but Cesaro meets him... AVALANCHE KARELIN LIFT CAN’T KEEP JEFF HARDY DOWN!

Action spills to the floor again, Cesaro with a charging uppercut, whip reversed and he goes knee-first into the steel steps! Jeff with a battering ram shoulder off the barricade! Back inside, up top...

Jeff Hardy wins by pinfall with the Swanton Bomb.

The main show kicks off with a video package depicting WWE Headquarters as being immensely tall and in the center of a big city district full of skyscrapers, so that feels like Vince compensating for something.

Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake) vs. Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado) vs. New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. the Miz & John Morrison (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship)

Metalik and Kingston to start, Kofi pulling an early advantage as they go back and forth but Blake tags in on him and clears the apron as he goes to work on the luchador. Whip denied, northern lariat connects and Tamina’s in control! Snuka with a kick to the midsection, whip across, up and over into a sleeper hold! Ramming her back into the corner to force a break, Tamina sets her up top and yells at her about being disrespectful.

Feet back on the mat, Snuka with a scoop and a slam, Bayley rolls to the floor and drags her to the corner, posting her bad knee! Dropkick to the knee, dragging her inside for the cover, only two! Pressing the attack with grounded strikes, again just a nearfall. Tamina stacks her up in the corner, running hip attack, moving slow because of her bum knee.

She throws the superkick... BAYLEY COUNTERS INTO A KNEEBAR! Snuka gets the ropes to force the break but the damage is done and she’s slow to rise. Bayley takes advantage, picking the leg, kicking the hamstring, clobbering her with forearms in the ropes! Back inside again, Wyatt cuts him off with a kick and tries to get himself back together. Braun stands up wearing the black sheep mask and Bray laughs and screams about how he told him, and asks if Strowman understands what this means.

He loves him, and this time everything will be perfect. Braun drops to his knees and they hold their arms wide together. Rey comes up the rear as Shayna leads a merry chase up some stairs! The men brawl out of the elevator near them and the chaos gives Asuka a distraction to slip out but Baszler sees her and gives chase!

Black fights off on his own while Bryan, Corbin, and Otis fight in a room with some ropes strung along the walls. The American Dragon leaves them laying and runs off as a Doink reveals himself to be hiding behind a chair! Four of the women run into each other, Carmella slaps Jax and Nia takes her into a conference room for a beating!

Shayna shoves Dana into the room as well, throwing her over a table! Jax and Baszler size each other up and start clubbering! Nia knocks her down, Brooke takes Jax out with a chair and retrieves a briefcase that’s hung from the ceiling, but Stephanie McMahon appears to tell her the real briefcase is on the roof.

McMahon asks her to clean Nia’s drool off the floor and leaves. Carmella takes a portrait of herself as Ms. Money in the Bank off the wall and breaks it over Dana’s head! She moonwalks out... AND LACEY EVANS PUNCHES HER IN THE THROAT! AJ Styles is alive and he’s gonna fu— he’s gonna find Rey. He stalks the corridors yelling about how he’s gonna find him and hurt him, but he runs into locked door after locked door.

Styles turns and faces a portrait of the Undertaker and gets spooked but continues his chase. He opens a door into a blue smoke-filled room full of Deadman paraphrenalia, a coffin, an urn, and such, and turns around into a hard kick from Black! Al shuts him in the room and leaves. Paul Heyman is enjoying a feast at a catering table when everyone in both matches that isn’t unconscious in a boardroom somewhere runs in and squares up!

Brooke runs into him, still wearing the portrait of Carmella, when Otis declares a food fight and throws a platter at Paul E’s head! Indeed... FOOD FIGHT! Rey gets sandwiched between Jax and Dozer, Bryan and Black (who have met before at wXw AMBITION in shoot style excellence, go check it out) brawl off and Nia puts Mella through a table!

Dan and AJ brawling, they fight into Vincent Kennedy McMahon’s office! Mr. McMahon stands up and they stop fighting. He tells them to get out and they put some chairs back in place before leaving. Vince sanitizes his hands and goes back to work.

Outside, AJ and Bryan bicker about just whose fault that weird encounter was when Corbin comes up behind them and takes them into a nearby conference room to beat them up. Jax and Asuka are the first two to the roof, entering the ring with Evans not too far behind them. Nia is dominant, scoop lift into a military press drop on Lacey!

Corbin climbing up the other side and trying to stop her for some ungodly reason but she knocks him down...

Asuka wins the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, retrieving the briefcase.

Otis comes to the roof and rolls into the ring but of course, the rungs of the ladder break under his weight again. Sigh. Corbin attacks and folds the ladder up so he can ram Dozer in the belly with it, but Otis sidesteps the next charge and it’s Caterpillar time! Black and Mysterio come to the roof next, setting a ladder back up and climbing opposite sides.

Styles slides in and knocks the ladder over with both of them on top of it! Corbin knocks Rey off a guardrail and then throws Black over the edge as well! AJ climbs the ladder, Bryan up the opposite side, Corbin pulls Dan off and Otis yanks at Styles! The fray clears, Styles is still standing and he resumes climbing the ladder.
