During a chat with Corey Graves on “After the Bell,” Jeff Hardy, who is returning to television on Friday Night SmackDown soon enough, made clear he hopes to have one more strong singles run in WWE before hanging it up for good. He would also like to get creative with it — because of course he would, he’s Jeff Hardy — and maybe put something fun together with The Fiend, Bray Wyatt.
Oh, and also get his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar:
“One thing I had forgot, when I did ‘Backstage’ they asked me about Brock Lesnar and I had totally forgot I was his first match in WWE. I had totally forgot about that. So maybe, yeah, there’s one more thing I would love, to get my ass kicked by him again, maybe. He’s just intimidating and insanely gifted. To be as successful as he was in the MMA world, he’s just amazing. So, yeah, that’d be interesting. Maybe that could be my last match. I was his first match, he can be my last.”
A young Jeff Hardy taking a beating from Lesnar helped get the green monster over all those years ago. An older Jeff Hardy, with all the mileage on his body, taking a beating from Lesnar just sounds terrifying.
But it could very well be a fitting end to his WWE run.
