Seemingly conflicting rumors came out yesterday - one indicating the next episodes of Raw and SmackDown would air live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, and others indicating the company would attempt to film a lot of content at a undisclosed locations like AEW did last week.
According to another report from Fightful’s pay site, both could be right.
Sources told Fightful Select that WWE will resume filming at the PC on Friday (April 10). Between then and Thurs., April 16, “the tentative plan is to film three episodes of SmackDown, three episodes of WWE Raw, and multiple episodes of NXT”.
It’s possible this week’s SmackDown and next Monday’s Raw could air live as part of this marathon session. That idea has been “tossed around”, but not decided on.
This of course raises the question of how WWE will get around Florida’s stay-at-home order, which is place for all non-essential workers until April 30. The state says they’re following federal guidelines regarding the classification of essential workers and an earlier order for Miami-Dade County. I don’t see “pro wrestlers” or “the entertainment industry” listed in the Department of Homeland Security’s guidance, but the County document includes “media services” as essential, so maybe that’s their out?
No matter, you have to think WWE has assurances in place of local officials that they won’t be shut down.
We’ll see how this plays out over the next week and a half.
