Conventional wisdom says WWE crowned Charlotte Flair as a two-time NXT Women’s champion at WrestleMania 36 because the second-generation Superstar will help their Wednesday show in its battle against AEW Dynamite.
But Flair says she’s not even sure how it will work not that she’s representing the black-and-gold brand. If she has a say, she wants to travel between Raw, SmackDown, and NXT with the belt.
As she told TV Insider’s Scott Fishman when he asked if she’d work both Raw (the show she’s technically on) and NXT:
“I guess that is up for debate. Do I need to be drafted to NXT? [Laughs] How is this going to work? I hope I get to work at all three brands.“
We’ll see if that works out for her. Charlotte’s fellow Horsewomen Sasha Banks & Bayley wanted to work all the shows when they Women’s Tag champs and, well, that didn’t happen.
If the Queen is told to focus on NXT, she’s excited to work with that brand’s talent:
“Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, and I’m sure Bianca Belair wants a rematch. I haven’t really thought about that yet. It’s crazy, a whole new group of girls. Everyone knows that I’m probably the most competitive person in the locker room, so I’m going to want to have the best division.”
We’ll see if the new NXT champ shows up on Raw tonight, which was actually filmed before ‘Mania (but allegedly with talent aware of the outcome of their matches on the Grandest Stage of Them All). Ditto for this week’s NXT, which will feature a ladder match between Yim, LeRae, Io Shirai, Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, and Chelsea Green to determine Charlotte’s first challenger.
