WrestleMania 36 results: Drew McIntyre wins the WWE championship from Brock Lesnar

Although WrestleMania 36 spanned two nights, the main event of the show ended up being exactly what you would have expected it to be: Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE championship.

Sure, a live crowd at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa would have been incredible but these two big ol’ slabs of beef beating each other up may have hit just as hard in front of no fans at the Performance Center in Orlando.

The match was laid off fairly similar to most Brock matches at this level: the two wrestlers threw their biggest shots at each other and were continually surprised by the fact that the other was kicking out of the ensuing pinfall attempt. McIntyre ate three F’5’s and kicked out each time.

He made sure to deliver four Claymore kicks to Lesnar.

That’s what got the job done.

The journey is complete. Drew McIntyre is your new WWE champion. It took just under five minutes to get there.
