Rey Mysterio clarifies coronavirus status

As one of the biggest names in WWE, it seemed odd that Rey Mysterio was not scheduled for WrestleMania 36. That led to rumors of Mysterio being quarantined due to coronavirus concerns. The man himself addressed the situation in an interview with Jimena Sanchez of Fox Sports Mexico.

The following clip is in Spanish.

Mysterio could not travel to Orlando for WrestleMania. He was feeling under the weather with a cold or chills. Mysterio didn’t show symptoms of coronavirus. No headache, his throat was fine, his temperature was perfect. He thinks the cause was due to the weather change of flying from Orlando heat to rainy San Diego. WWE’s doctors decided that it was best for Mysterio to stay home and not risk anyone’s health.

Mysterio also discussed his favorite WrestleMania moments. The following clip is in Spanish.

At WrestleMania 22, Mysterio overcame all the limits to winning the world championship for the first time. There had never been a champion of his size, Hispanic, and masked. Mysterio viewed that achievement as a record-breaker. Mysterio mentioned his match against Eddie Guerrero at WrestleMania 21 as well. That was the start of their story as rivals.

What is your favorite WrestleMania moment of Rey Mysterio?
