The fight for the Raw Women’s Championship isn’t about winning - It’s about destruction

Becky Lynch (c) versus Shayna Baszler
Raw Women’s Championship

The Man, Becky Lynch, has worked her way through the women’s roster beating every opponent that has come her way inexplicably retaining the Raw Women’s Championship for almost an entire year. She’s beaten all her past rivals, notably Charlotte Flair and Asuka, leaving The Man not only with gold around her waist but a man-sized ego in her wake.

She was seemingly untouchable. Until Shayna Baszler showed up for blood. Literally.

Now with their Survivor Series rivalry renewed, The Man is faced with her toughest competition since winning her title at last year’s WrestleMania.

The Road to WrestleMania 36

After her brutal (and controversial) domination in the Elimination Chamber, Baszler officially earned the right to face Becky on the grandest stage of them all. (It turns out you can’t just show up, bite someone and get a title match!)

In her post-match glow glower, Baszler made it clear that Becky may have beaten everyone else in WWE, but she’s never faced an opponent like her. Shayna doesn’t care about winning matches. All she cares about is destruction - both physically and emotionally. And Becky? It’s safe to say at this point, she feels the same.

Since the chamber match, the two competitors have cut several promos at a distance that have ultimately ended in surprise sneak attack violence. Neither wrestler seems to care what the other has to say, and neither the brass nor the need to social distance can keep them from getting their hands dirty.

What’s at stake?

The winner of this bout will not only walk away with the Raw Women’s Championship but will walk away with the pride and reputation of the fallen.

If Becky wins, she not only can once again say that there is no one on her level, but she will also have single-handedly derailed Shayna’s epic main roster push. Sure, Shayna will still be a threat to most of the roster, but she won’t be quite the threat she is now.

If Shayna wins, she not only solidifies her standing as the unstoppable beast they’ve made her out to be, but The Queen of Spades will have ruined The Man’s near year-long reign and will have put a sizable dent in her sizable ego.

Simply put, whoever wins this match will set the tone for the RAW women’s division for the year to come. Will it be a division terrorized by an Unstoppable Monster or a division disdained by an Unstoppable Ego?

Becky Lynch will defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36 on the WWE Network. Be sure to check back in at for all of your WrestleMania coverage.
