WWE continues to milk their new connection to the NFL for all it’s worth. And, hey, I ain’t complaining. It’s fun to think about how they might tie Rob Gronkowski joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into their 24/7 title scene.
Their official congrats on WWE.com name drops Gronk’s future first ballot Hall of Famer quarterback, Tom Brady:
“Congratulations to Rob Gronkowski, the current WWE 24/7 Champion, on his return to football.
Per the rules of the 24/7 Title, Gronk must defend his championship at all times in any location. He could be celebrating a touchdown pass from Tom Brady...anytime, anywhere.”
We’ve got no intel that points to TB12 being a pro wrestling fan, but he is notoriously competitive. I wouldn’t completely rule out a roll-up if he wanted locker room bragging rights.
If Gronk can hold onto until whenever NFL training camps start, that is. A familiar player has already declared his intention to get his baby back ASAP. And R-Truth knows where Tampa Bay is Rob! It’s in Tampa, Florida!

It seems that @RobGronkowski, the newest member of the @Buccaneers, is now a marked man. #WWEBackstage pic.twitter.com/FPMqICi8zJ
I just need one segment - hell, one camera shot - of Brady reacting to Truth.
Come on Fox, make it happen.
