McIntyre vs. Rollins WWE championship match set for Money in the Bank

@WWE

After Drew McIntyre won the WWE championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, he made clear he plans on giving title shots to those who deserve it.

How, then, could they possibly get to a McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins match? After all, Rollins lost to Kevin Owens at WrestleMania.

Well, they had McIntyre go out on Monday Night Raw this week and directly acknowledge the fact that Rollins doesn’t necessarily deserve a shot on the merits of his recent outings but rather his career as a whole makes him one of the best and that’s who the champ wants to beat while he’s at the top of the card.

Which, yeah, that makes sense! And, hey, let’s enjoy the fact that they bothered to explain this at all!

This was played as a challenge from McIntyre to Rollins on television, so while it’s not official as of this writing, it’s really only a matter of time before it’s booked for Money in the Bank on May 10, 2020. (Update: Not long after this was printed, Rollins accepted the challenge. The title has been updated to reflect that change.)

The updated match card:

- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Seth Rollins (WWE championship)
- Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt (Universal championship)
- Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
- Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
