Several well-known producers reportedly furloughed as part of WWE cost-cutting

WWE indicated their corporate response to the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on their bottom line would touch multiple areas of the company.

We’re still hearing about talent releases. PWInsider reports that many well-known producers have been let go as part of the budget cuts being made today (April 15).

The names are mix of recent hires and long-time members of the backstage team:

Billy Kidman, Mike Rotunda, Dave Finlay, Pat Buck, Shawn Daivari, Scott Armstrong, Sarah Stock, Shane Helms and Lance Storm

There’s no word yet if these people were laid off, or furloughed with the hopes of bringing them back when business returns to something closer to normal. WWE said furloughing would be one of the tools they used, and it’s much more likely producers would qualify for that option.

UPDATE: Pro Wrestling Sheet’s sources say the producers were furloughed.

Stay tuned.
