Ronda Rousey blasts pro wrestlers with ‘soft egos’ outraged by her calling wrestling ‘fake’

The former Raw Women’s champ also says ‘no one is thinking about all the REAL fighters you’re insulting pretending pro wrestling is somehow on the same level of realism’.

Insert Ron Burgundy “Well, that escalated quickly” GIF here.

Ronda Rousey’s appearance on Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast generated a ton of online discussion - notably for labeling the WWE audience as “a bunch of fucking ungrateful fans”.

She also drew some responses from fans and people inside the business for describing her 16 months in pro wrestling as “running out there, having fake fights for fun”. Alexa Bliss and Lana were among the wrestlers who reacted to her use of “fake” to describe their athletic exhibitions with pre-determined outcomes.

Well, Rousey has made it clear she doesn’t want to hear anything about that:

I don’t think anyone has said pro wrestling and an unscripted MMA bout are “on the same level of realism”. They just asked that a person who got paid a lot of money to dabble in their world not minimize what they do as “fake fights for fun”.

But, we’re here now. Even if any part of this was once intended as storyline, there’s going to be real emotion involved now.

Buckle up.
