WWE couldn’t possibly have executed John Cena’s return and the eventual build to his accepting a match against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 any worse last week, so there was nowhere to go but up this week. To that end, the latest episode of Firefly Fun House gave us the backstory we needed.
"He is waiting at @WrestleMania. But unlike me, he is not so forgiving." - @WWEBrayWyatt on @JohnCena's opponent, The Fiend. #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/9SNcGAiqWA— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) March 7, 2020
In short, Wyatt was on one hell of a run and then he ran into Cena at WrestleMania 30 and “totally destroyed” him “thus beginning a downward spiral of negativity and failure” in his “personal and professional life.”
Yowie wowie indeed.
This, then, is the end result of that. Now, he’s made his way back to square up with the past. Time is a flat circle and all that.
