During the interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani embedded above, Raw Women’s champion lets us in a bit on the layout of the first ever two-night WrestleMania, happening April 4 - 5.
“I’m pretty certain that it is on the first night... I believe that it’s on the Saturday.”
If she’s right, there’s probably a decent chance her title defense against Shayna Baszler will be the main event. Rumors say WWE was deciding between that and the Roman Reigns/Goldberg match to close the show on Sat., April 4. And from what we know now, Reigns is no longer performing at WrestleMania 36, which may make that decision easier.
Speaking of Roman, Lynch doesn’t react when Helwani says that he’s pulled out of the show over concerns about contracting the coronavirus due to being immunocompromised,. But she does talk a bit about her own stance, and goes over the procedures the company has in place at the Performance Center to limit the risk of transmitting COVID-19 between wrestlers & crew working there.
“I didn’t have any concerns for myself. We really limited the amount of people that were there...
They’re staggering everything. If you don’t have a reason to be there, then get the hell out of there. If you have a match or segment then you’re there with a minimal amount of crew. When you come in, your temperature is taken, a questionnaire is filled out, and the doctors are there to meet you when you walk into the building.”
Elsewhere in the video, Becky talks about her year as champ, adapting to keep fan support now that she’s on top, her relationship with Seth Rollins, and more.
Check it out, and let us know what you think about The Man vs. The Cagefighter possibly main eventing night one of WrestleMania 36 in the comments below.
