WrestleMania 36 will be taped this week

WWE.com

This is all just so weird.

Not only will this year’s WrestleMania take place with zero fans live in attendance, not only will it happen at the WWE Performance Center (among other locations, apparently), not only will it be a two night event on April 4 and April 5, it won’t even air live on either night.

Indeed, PW Insider reports that WrestleMania 36 will be taped this coming Wednesday and Thursday. This is after many days of WWE compiling material to use for both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown to ensure there is plenty of content for new television each week.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has led to some states going on “lockdown,” which is essentially just asking as many folks as possible to stay at home as much as they can and closing all non-essential businesses. It’s at least possible WWE will be forced into taking a break like major pro sports have, so Vince McMahon and co. are trying to get as much done now while that uncertainty looms.
