Beth Phoenix showed up to Monday Night Raw this week with the promise of a “medical update” on her husband Edge. It was always a perfect set up for an interaction with the man who put him out of action in storyline, Randy Orton.
Sure enough:

They did give us an explanation from Orton, finally. He said he did all this because, well, he loves Edge. He wants him to be a good husband and a good father, and Phoenix has just been an enabler who has allowed him to fall victim to the fact that he’s a junkie for the roar of the crowd. He was doing him a favor, you see!
Beth finally slapped him when he went too far, and then kicked him when he called her a “bitch.” That’s what led to the RKO.
Now we await the return of Edge, who will surely be coming in hot.
