With the coronavirus pandemic creating a public health crisis around the world, it’s really important right now for as many people to stay home as possible, and to practice social distancing.
That’s why the idea of 30 wrestlers crammed together into one ring at WrestleMania 36 sounded like a very bad idea. And now WWE has confirmed that there will be no Battle Royal on that card, per Pro Wrestling Sheet:
“According to multiple sources, the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and the women’s battle royal matches were pulled from the card to abide by CDC and government recommendations as much as possible while producing the event.
We’re told this is one of the many precautionary measures WWE is taking during the event to ‘flatten the curve.’”
“When reached for comment, WWE confirmed the battle royals would not be taking place this year.”
This is truly for the best, because we really need to slow down the spread of coronavirus and get the message through to everyone that it’s really important to keep your distance from others right now.
