Earlier today, WWE booked a Fatal 4-Way match for this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown to determine who would be next to challenge for the SmackDown women’s championship. Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and Dana Brooke were given those four slots.
Considering they already started up a program between Bayley, the current titleholder, and Naomi, who just returned and appears in line for a push, it looked like the result would be obvious.
Nope!
Just as Naomi was about to score the pin off a Rearview to Alexa Bliss, Carmella jumped in with a pair of superkicks that got her the victory.

What will be interesting is when exactly this match takes place. Super ShowDown is the next big event on the WWE calendar but that’s in Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania 36, meanwhile, is still two months away.
Stay tuned.
