It’s said WWE, and specifically Regal and fellow talent development executive Canyon Cemen, have been interested in signing former Evolve and wXw champion Timothy Thatcher for years. But the 36 year old has rejected past offers to sign with the company.
Squared Circle Sirens first reported last night that Thatcher was at the Performance Center, and was believed to have signed. PWInsider followed that up today with confirmation.
A 15 year veteran of the independent scene, Thatcher has at times been considered among the best in-ring performers in the world. He’s worked for companies all over the globe, and brings a wealth of experience to WWE as both a wrestlers and a potential trainer/coach.
During his title run in Evolve, Thatcher was managed by Stokely Hathaway - now Malcolm Bivens in NXT. A reunion could be a good way to get both men on television.
We’ll see what happens after an official announcement. WWE will likely reveal their new PC class later this month.
