WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR FEB. 24

I don’t care if I’m old, I don’t mind if I don’t have a mind. Get away, get away from your home. I’m afraid, I’m afraid of a ghost. Even if you have, even if you need... I don’t mean to stare, but three hours of liveblogging this here pro wrestling show leaves me a little shellshocked every week, folks.

The show opens with a recap of some Randy Orton business.

Thence to the intro video.

Randy Orton makes his entrance for some *live* Randy Orton business.

He gets on the mic and says he needs to apologize— he’s not the most sentimental of men, but of late his emotions have become unbalanced. He talks about how it’s fifteen years since Raw came to Winnipeg and he did some research and found out that he encounted a man he’d come to look up to, Edge. The crowd chants for Edge and he says he’s not here tonight but he knows none of us can understand why he did what he did.

But he is truly, truly sorry, from the bottom of his heart.

Enter Kevin Owens.

He talks about how he’s been dealing with delusional people for the last couple months, up to and including the Monday Night Moron, Seth Rollins, but tonight he’s putting that aside because tonight he’s got an issue with Orton. Owens just heard him apologize for what he did to Edge, yes? Well... he doesn’t think Randy means it, so drop the act and just explain why you did it?

Matt Hardy ate two vicious beatdowns for asking, so here’s Kev to ask. Orton tells KO he doesn’t want to go down that road, but Owens insists he does. He says he’s been a fan of WWE his entire life, and he remembers what it felt like to watch Edge retire. He was grinding it out on the indies at that time, and he sat there and watched somebody he looked up to retire and thought about how much it sucked for him and people like him who wanted to share the ring with him.

So at the Royal Rumble, he watched Edge come out and to see the look in his eyes when he got what he loved back, and to know that maybe one day he’d get to step in the ring with him?! But then the next night, Orton took it all away, so Kev is going to ask one more time— why did you do it? Randy asks him if he thought he knows him, and says Edge thought he knew him, too.

KO says the people are tired of seeing them talk, so he wants to fight. The Viper asks if he wants a match here tonight and says he’s on, but not right this minute.

Orton leaves.

Angel Garza and Zelina Vega are interviewed backstage.

Vega says the only business they have with Humberto Carrillo is the necessary chore of taking out the trash, because family is very important, but you’re not equally proud of your entire family. Luckily Garza is a man’s man, who realizes he has to put his cousin Humberto where he belongs, and once he does, nothing will stop him from taking the top spot.

Charly flirts a little with Zelina and then Angel swoops in with his ladies’ man gimmick and makes it awkward.

Vega and Garza make their entrance to send us to break.

Angel Garza vs. Humberto Carrillo

Circling, collar and elbow, Garza with a side headlock takeover into mount, trading palm strikes and Carrillo posts over so they’re both on their head and we get more slaps. Headlock from Humberto, Angel gets the ropes and forces the break, taking a breather on the floor. Back in, Carrillo gets the headlock again, shot off, shoulder block, off the ropes, drop down, leapfrog, back roll, duck a lariat, back roll, springboard headscissors from Garza but Humberto lands on his feet, stalemate!

Angel ducks a lariat but eats a dropkick, rolling to the floor, where Carrillo hits a suicide dive to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Garza cuts Carrillo off in the turnbuckles and yanks his pants off before kicking him! Drawing him up, slingshot inverted suplex gives way to a superkick for two! Humberto with an arm drag, Angel to the floor, baseball slide goes high and Garza nails him with a superkick! Back inside, cover for two, jockeying for position over the ropes, roundhouse kick connects!

To the apron, superkick gets a pump kick, trading kicks and both men are down and out. Carillo recovers first, raining forearms down in mount, catapult but Angel catches himself on the turnbuckles! Perched on the second, Orihara moonsault wipes Humberto out and sends us back to break!

Back from commercial, Garza off the ropes... CARRILLO HITS THE SNAP SPANISH FLY! Dragging Angel into position, Vega runs interference and Angel is able to cut him off... SPANISH FLY OFF THE TOP FOR TWO! Kick connects, Carrillo falls into a cover, no dice! Crucifix from Garza gets two, sunset flip same deal, reversals, trading pins to no avail! Angel blocks a wheelbarrow...

Angel Garza wins by pinfall with a victory roll pin.

We get a video package covering Shayna Baszler’s Raw debut and the fallout therefrom.

Becky Lynch is briefly shown chatting with someone backstage.

Ricochet makes his entrance, he’ll be in action after the break.

Luke Gallows vs. Ricochet

Gallows clubbing away, Ricochet up and over, off the ropes, duck a lariat, another, dropkick connects and Big Hoot spills to the floor. Off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO! Drawing him up, throwing him inside, but Luke nails him with a big boot when he returns. Elbow dropped across the back of the neck, shove into the corner, right hands, scoop Ricky up and drop him with a backbreaker!

Cover gets two, Gallows with more clubs, big right hand, overhead elbows into the reverse chinlock, suffocating Ricochet. Jawbreaker to escape, Luke with a front kick, suplex lift, Ricky out with knees and he hits a dropkick, an enzuigiri, boot up in the corner, off the ropes with forearms, duck a lariat, springboard crossbody takes the big man off his feet!

Running shooting star press... NOPE! Lying in wait, Big Hoot with more clubs and a superkick, scoop, Ricochet slips out, superkick of his own! Snapping Recoil off, he heads up top...

Ricochet wins by pinfall with a shooting star press.

Paul Heyman is shown watching backstage as Ricochet celebrates, sending us to break.

Back from commercial, the OC are walking backstage and bickering.

AJ Styles screams at the other two to act like the best team in the world and says that miracles could happen at Super Showdown. Like Ricochet beating Brock Lesnar, but if he does, AJ will be right behind him to take the title. They have to plant their flag, he says, and calls Aleister Black out as he walks past, saying he wins a few matches and he thinks he owns the place.

Styles says they have to remind him who they are, and the OC jump him, beating him down in the hallway.

They leave and Aleister pulls himself back up to his feet.

Enter Brock Lesnar, flanked by Paul Heyman as always.

Paul does his usual introduction and talks about how Brock reigns at will and how he rarely deigns to take people to Suplex City, and this makes it special. He goes on and on about his usual “spoilers” and says Lesnar is not only beating Ricochet, but he’s going to make mincemeat out of Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania.

Aleister Black is making his way out to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package covering the build for Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler.

Aleister Black vs. Erick Rowan

Black limping, throwing probing kicks, Rowan throws him into the corner but he turns him around and lights him up with body blows. Shove across, Erick runs him over and body slams him. Knees to the back, off the ropes, boot to the face and Rowan taunts for the crowd. Suplex lift, Aleister slips out and low bridges him to the floor before booting him off the apron!

Black follows out after him but Erick sweeps his legs out from under him and throws him into the office chairs to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Rowan is in charge but Black fights back on the apron with a kick to the chops. Back inside, boots to the face, Erick shoves him down and traps an arm, throwing him aside before hitting a Rock Bottom... NOPE! Jockeying for position, back elbow from Black, forearm, strike rush, leg sweep takes the big man off his feet and a sliding knee staggers him!

Kip-up, quebrada connects, back and forth, pop-up into a powerslam... STILL NO! Falling lariat, again just a two count. Action to the floor, Al puts Erick into the steel steps and he knocks his pet over in its cage! Headbutt against the apron, forearms, lining Black up... POWERBOMB INTO THE RINGPOST! Rowan goes and checks on his pet while referee Rod Zapata counts... BACK IN AT NINE BUT ALEISTER IS READY FOR HIM...

Aleister Black wins by pinfall with Black Mass.

Post-match, Black is interviewed.

He gives credit for his win to his unbridled rage, and next week that rage will be AJ Styles’ burden, and if you think he’s being too cryptic, he comes out and says it— he and AJ are fighting next week.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a sit-down interview with Drew McIntyre.

He doesn’t care who he fights at WrestleMania, all that matters to him is fighting for the WWE Championship in the main event. He talks about how his career got derailed the first time around and he got fired, deservedly so. He thought he’d never return, but he was angry and bitter in that time and was fueled by that anger. Eventually things went well enough that he could look in the mirror and realized that he’d be damned if people would remember him as an idiot playing air guitar.

He talks about Triple H being his mentor and about how he needs to fulfill his potential now.

R-Truth is in the ring.

He gets on the mic and invites us to the winter premiere of TruthTV!

His guest tonight is Monday Night Raw’s power couple, Bobby Lashley and Lana.

They make their entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, TruthTV begins in earnest.

Truth says he’s been working on his questions all weekend, and Lana calls TruthTV stupid and says they’re not here for that, but rather Lashley has a match against Truth.

Ron admits he knows, but Bob is really, really, really, really... big, and he’d rather ask questions than have to fight him. Like has he seen Sonic the Hedgehog?

At this question, Lana demands the bell!

Bobby Lashley vs. R-Truth

Truth begs off and asks for time to get undressed, to which Bob lets him get his jacket halfway off before he blindsides him! Strikes in the corner, whip across, corner lariat, reverse STO connects! Lashley dumps him to the floor, Ron comes back in, block a right hand and fire off palm strikes! Off the ropes, shoulder block, shoulder block, fall-forward Blue Thunder Driver, “You can’t see me!”, Five Knuckle Shuffle!

Fireman’s carry, slip out, Truth stays on him, off the ropes...

Bobby Lashley wins by pinfall with a spear.

Another video package for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship scene follows.

Asuka makes her entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we’re informed that AJ Styles vs. Aleister Black is indeed on for next week, as well as Humberto Carrillo & Rey Mysterio vs. Angel Garza & Andrade “Cien” Almas.

Five of the women in the Elimination Chamber are in the ring and Jerry “the King” Lawler is presiding over a contract signing.

Asuka steals the mic from him and calls Shayna Baszler out for not being present. Lawler says she’s a no-show and tries to get things going, passing the contract to Sarah Logan to get things started. One by one all five women sign and Liv Morgan almost picks a fight with Ruby Riott. Last but not least, Asuka puts pen to paper and oh, of course, here comes the Queen of Spades!

She strolls down and signs, eyeballing all five women. Asuka knocks Liv down to get in Baszler’s face and demand she bite her, but Natalya attacks from behind with a double leg into mounted punches and we got a brawl! Shayna puts her hands up and enjoys the chaos. She’s the only one standing tall—

Enter Becky Lynch!

Double leg, mounted punches on Shayna but she gets away and spinebusters the champ into mounted punches of her own! Referees and road agents swarm to break them up!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get some hype for the Bella Twins being inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame.

Street Profits make their entrance and get on the mic.

They talk about how they helped Kevin Owens last week against Seth Rollins and his goons, but this week they have a shot at the tag titles in Saudi Arabia and they want the smoke.

Angelo Dawkins vs. Buddy Murphy

Murphy throwing his shirt at Dawkins, blasting him in the corner, whip reversed, strike rush, stamp the foot, huge right from Angelo! Sidestep the charge, off the ropes, lariat connects, a second, duck one of Buddy’s, corkscrew uppercut! Spinning splash in the corner, Murphy throws him over the ropes and nails him with a slingshot dropkick! Off the ropes, Dawkins back in, Sky High— Seth Rollins breaks it up and referee John Cone has no choice...

Angelo Dawkins wins by unannounced disqualification.

Montez Ford says it’s cool, because Dawkins hit Murphy so hard he lost his first name, and now he’s gonna fight Seth.

Montez Ford vs. Seth Rollins

Ford sends him to the floor with a dropkick, off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO! Montez is fired up and we’re going to break!

Back from commercial, referee John Cone is sending Angelo Dawkins to the back... and Buddy Murphy too! Rollins back in, jawing at Cone, Ford from behind with a schoolboy, only two. Charge in, back body drop to the apron, forearm from the apron, springboard crossbody for two! Lariat sends Seth to the floor, following after, dropkick connects.

Montez back inside, Rollins cuts him off with a dropkick in the turnbuckles and biels him to the mat. Mounted punches, back suplex, Ford floats out of a follow up and sends Seth to the floor again. Back inside, cover, only two, whip across, Seth snaps off a buckle bomb! To the floor again, another buckle bomb into the barricade and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Rollins is in control, jawing at Ford. Montez fires up, enzuigiri connects, right hands, fired up back into it but Seth cuts him off with kicks... BUCKLE BOMB COUNTERED INTO A FRANKENSTEINER! Lariat connects, whip reversed, leapfrog, leaping lariat! Kip-up, standing moonsault, again just a two count! To the apron, Rollins meets him with a lariat, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles.

Kick connects, back inside, underhooks, blocked, Ford snaps off a DDT that almost wins him the match! Back up top, Seth cuts him off, jockeying for position, Montez hits a sunset flip powerbomb! Up top again, frog splash... NOBODY HOME! Rollins capitalizes...

Seth Rollins wins by pinfall with Blackout.

We’re told that Beth Phoenix will be on the show next week to provide an update on Edge’s health.

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are walking backstage, our main event is up next, after the break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package for our NXT Women’s Champion.

Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton

Collar and elbow, jockeying for position in the lockup, Owens gets control and puts boots to him but referee Jake Clemons counts him off. Orton to the floor, KO gives chase and knocks him down against the barricade for the cannonball! Owens perches up top, Seth Rollins and his goons make their entrance, Randy takes advantage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Owens is throwing punches from the corner but Orton hits an arm wringer and stops him cold. Whip across, Kev manages to snap a superkick off and get some breathing room! Viking Raiders and Street Profits hit ringside to even the odds! Orton crotches KO on the turnbuckles, jockeying for position... OWENS HITS THE SENTON ATOMICO!

Rollins returns to ringside and Kev takes a moment to deal with him, which leaves the Viper room to strike with a lariat! Drawing Owens up but he snaps Randy’s neck over the top rope! Seth running interference, Orton hits the hanging DDT and referee Jake Clemons counts fast...

Randy Orton wins by pinfall with the hanging DDT and a fast count.

Post-match, Rollins throws Orton a pair of chairs and referee Clemons checks on him, the indie ref clearly in cahoots with the Monday Night Messiah. Cheering Randy on, telling him to let the voices speak to him but KO gets one of the chairs and squares up with him!

Orton decides he’s had enough and leaves, so Owens grabs Clemons and throws him in the ring! He tears his ref shirt and Jake is wearing one of Rollins’ t-shirts! Jake begs off, Kev throws the chair away... AND HITS HIM WITH A STUNNER!

Rollins screams about it impotently from the stage and KO goes under the ring for a table! He slides it in the ring and sets it up, pulling Clemons to his feet... POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE!

That’s the show, folks.
