Until late yesterday, WWE hadn’t announced much for tonight’s episode of NXT. We did finally get a preview from their website, which contains expected items like follow-up on Velveteen Dream’s return and Tommaso Ciampa’s injury.
That contained one match. They announced another on The Bump this morning.
First up is a Crusierweight title #1 contenders match between the two guys who held that belt prior to current champ Jordan Devlin.
Who will emerge as the No. 1 contender to the NXT Cruiserweight Title?@itsLioRush and @AngelGarzaWwe go head-to-head TOMORROW NIGHT on #WWENXT! https://t.co/2pcbFyDFok

No word on when Devlin will face the winner, but there is a TakeOver on Sunday in Portland...
A match we’re definitely getting this weekend is Tegan Nox vs. Dakota Kai in a street fight. Candice LeRae was also betrayed by Kai at WarGames, and NXT’s established the real-life friendship between Candice, Dakota, and Tegan in kayfabe, so LeRae vs. Kai makes sense as prelude.
As first revealed on @WWETheBump, @CandiceLeRae will go one-on-one with @DakotaKai_WWE TONIGHT on #WWENXT.https://t.co/tVzjiEU2rL

They’re also planting seeds for a couple other matches we’re likely to see tonight. One of the people Undisputed ERA took out during their backstage rampage last week was Kushida. As he gets ready to defend his title against Ciampa in Portland, Adam Cole is daring the Japanese Superstar to try something:
In a really bad mood...and I hear Kushida has a problem with what happened last week.

Ok tough guy, how about tonight you try and do something about it? I bet you won’t. @WWENXT #nxtonusa
Meanwhile, an angle from one of last weekend’s house shows looks to be set up for a Johnny Gargano vs. Cameron Grimes bout:

NXT using every outlet at their disposal to tell stories. Kind of sounds like another Wednesday night wrestling show, doesn’t it?
