It’s almost strange to think of how long Braun Strowman has been plugging away on the main roster, but it’s been a few years now. In all that time, despite repeated pushes to the top of the card, he’s never held a singles title.
Until now.
Strowman won the Intercontinental championship from Shinsuke Nakamura on Friday Night SmackDown this week, and afterwards he was emotional about it:
“You know, it was (emotional out there), I’m still very emotional. This is a hard thing for me to, you know, take all in. This is my first singles title that I’ve held as a WWE Superstar. I mean, this is a huge milestone for me. For four-and-a-half years I’ve been chasing this opportunity and finally tonight I got my hands on the Intercontinental championship and I don’t plan on letting go of this thing anytime soon.”
It’s hard not to like the guy when you see something like that.
