WWE TLC 2020 results, live streaming match coverage: Reigns vs. Owens

WWE TLC is all set to pop off tonight (Sun., Dec. 20, 2020) from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida at 7:00 pm ET, live on the WWE Network. You may also be able to watch this on pay-per-view (PPV) if your cable provider is carrying the event.

WWE TLC LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

Crawling down the alley on your hands and knees, I’m sure you’re not protected, for it’s plain to see. The Diamond Dogs are poachers and they hide behind trees, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The pre-show kicks off with Charly Caruso welcoming us to the preshow. The panel joining her tonight consists of Booker T, Jeff Jarrett, and Peter Rosenberg, and they get up to all the usual preshow business, up to and including R-Truth coming down to the table to make his case to be Asuka’s tag partner tonight.

Artist Collective (Cesaro, Sami Zayn, & Shinsuke Nakamura) & King Baron Corbin vs. Big E, Chad Gable, Daniel Bryan, & Otis Dozovic

Zayn and Gable to start but E tags himself in and Sami tags out to Corbin. Circling, collar and elbow, big men pushing each other around and Big gets him into the corner. Breaking at referee Jason Ayers’ count, coming back in, Baron shoves him off, knee lift, off the ropes, drop down, leapfrog, back elbow, Corbin with a lariat! Pass to the floor, back inside, E catches him with a belly-to-belly suplex and tags Chad in!

Cesaro in as well, side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, waistlock, hanging on, Swiss Superman reverses, headlock, shot off again. Drop down, leapfrog caught, Gable slips out, off the ropes for an arm drag and an old-school flying headscissors! Tag to Bryan, off the second with an axhandle to the elbow, shoulder armbreaker, whip reversed, backflip up and over, off the ropes, Dan with the Axe Bomber!

Chest kick caught, Cesaro trips him, swing reversed into a pin, only one! Leg kicks, Cesaro lifts him into the ropes, Nakamura with a cheap shot, Swiss Superman with an uppercut and the tag! Assisted knee lift into a snap suplex, cover for two! Drawing Bryan up, cravate, tag to Zayn and E’s mouth is watering on the apron. Quick tags, working the American Dragon over at length.

Eventually Otis gets the tag, heat segment over, whip, pop-up drop takes Nakamura out, Gable gives him the nod... CATERPILLAR! Tag to Chad, going for a double-team but Shinsuke takes them both out with heel kicks! Tag, knee drop into a powerbomb, Dozovic breaks it up! Corbin takes him out with a spinebuster, Bryan hits the Busaiku Knee, Swiss Death from Cesaro, Gable... CHAOS THEORY!

Zayn goes for the Blue Thunder Driver, Chad rolls through, tag to Big E! Sami hits him with a boot, sets him up but E counters the Helluva Kick into the big Rock Bottom! Up on his shoulder...

Big E, Chad Gable, Daniel Bryan, & Otis Dozovic win by pinfall with a Big Ending from E on Sami Zayn.

Back to the pre-show, we get a few more minutes of that business to close things out.


The main show kicks off with a video package recapping our top feuds.

AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre (c) (WWE Championship Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match)

Styles right out the gates with a dropkick to the knee! Punches and kicks in the corner, chops, picking the leg but McIntyre kicks him away! Sidestep the charge, more punches and kicks from AJ, front chancery but Drew reverses into a slam! Biel across the ring, McIntyre following it with chops, whip across and Styles bounces sternum-first off the turnbuckles!

Another whip, sliding in for punches, stomping away, Drew takes a moment to warn Big Buddy Omos at ringside to mind his business. Front kick gets a throat thrust, McIntyre with a back body drop and then knocking AJ to the floor! He sets a table up and pulls Styles up, knee blocks a suplex but Drew punches AJ away. Dragging him over to the barricade, dropping the Phenomenal One rib-first into the barrier!

He throws AJ through some chairs over a table, drops him on the barricade and brings a ladder in the ring to start climbing. Styles cuts him off with a chairshot to the knee! More chairshots, AJ wedges a chair in the turnbuckles but Drew blocks him from using it, instead catapulting Styles into the ladder! AJ lands like a cat and starts climbing, but Drew cuts him off... POWERBOMB INTO THE LADDER REVERSED! DREW GETS THE CATAPULT INTO THE CHAIR!

Styles turns the tide and drops a ladder on McIntyre! Styles Clash reversed... FUTURE SHOCK! Drew can’t capitalize because of the damage to his knee! McIntyre suplexes a ladder onto AJ but Styles comes right back with a chop block! Styles threads Drew’s leg through the ladder and pulls back in a toehold! AJ lets go and beats Drew down with a chair some more before threading his leg through the chair and again wrenching his leg over the steel!

McIntyre manages to smash AJ face-first into a ladder to break the hold, but he’s still writhing in agony! Drew leans a ladder in the corner, Styles pulls him to the apron and posts his leg into the unforgiving steel! AJ blasts him with a ladder before lackadaisically clearing some chairs off a table and knocking a ladder over to move it into place.

Styles unfolds a chair and sets Drew on the table, punching him a few times to keep him down before returning to the ring. Adjusting the ladder in the corner, he climbs up it only for McIntyre to recover and throw a chair at his dome to knock him down! He throws the table in the ring and slaps some life back into his leg before setting it up. Styles jumps off the table only to get caught in a belly-to-belly suplex into a ladder!

AJ gets to the apron and hits the Phenomenal Forearm! Both men down and out, Styles rises first and climbs the ladder. McIntyre cuts him off... MILITARY PRESS SLAM OVER THE ROPES AND THROUGH A TABLE TO THE FLOOR! Drew climbs... AND THE MIZ INTERRUPTS! John Morrison has the Money in the Bank briefcase as Miz powerbombs Drew through a table! He gives the briefcase to referee Rod Zapata and the match is now a triple threat!

AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre (c) vs. the Miz (WWE Championship Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match)

Miz climbs but AJ’s Big Buddy Omos finally remembers that he can get involved and he picks Miz off the ladder and slams him through a table to the floor! Morrison attacks Omos with a chair but it just shatters over his back! Omos stalks Johnny Raw up the entry and to the back as McIntyre and Styles slowly recover. Drew slapping his knee, trying to find the wherewithal to get to his feet while Styles shives the ladder around.

Drew gets a surge of adrenaline and both men climb. McIntyre punching away, staggering AJ, reaching for the title as Miz slips back in the ring and sets a ladder next to theirs, climbing up top. Drew knocks Styles down, he and Miz trade punches, the A-Lister smashes his head into the top of the ladder but McIntyre knocks him down! AJ springboards back on the ladder and trades punches with the Scotsman!

Styles reaching for the belt, Miz climbs up and trades punches with him now... DREW MCINTYRE KNOCKS THE LADDERS OVER AND AJ CRASHES TO THE FLOOR! CLAYMORE TO THE A-LISTER! Drew sets a ladder up and climbs...

Drew McIntyre wins by retrieving the title belt to retain the WWE Championship.


Paul Heyman is interviewed backstage.

He talks about how he loves NASCAR because of the car crashes, sick individual that he is, but he doesn’t have to watch NASCAR tonight because TLC is one long series of car crashes, essentially.

Carmella vs. Sasha Banks (c) (WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)

Carmella immediately bails to the floor at the bell, adjusting her gear. Back inside, Banks pulls her in and wails on her but Mella turns her around and blasts her kidneys! Seated senton, whip reversed, Sasha slides under and smashes Carmella face-first into the apron before landing an arm drag! Back inside, cover for two, she dumps Mella out of the ring but her sommelier catches her!

Assisted tijeras, smashing Banks into the steel steps when she follows, back inside, another nearfall! Back and forth, to the apron, jockeying for position and Carmella hits a mat slam into the corner of the ring! Back inside, another two and Mella grabs a kneeling surfboard to try and wear the Boss down. A kick staggers the challenger, corner knees, Three Amigos!

Off the top... FROG SPLASH IS ONLY GOOD FOR TWO! Carmella with a nearfall off an X-Factor after some jockeying for position in the corner, headscissors over the ropes, just grabbing a handful of hair to wrench the champ’s neck over the bottom rope before windmilling punches on the apron! Superkick, back inside, cover but Banks grabs the bottom rope!

Throwing Mella into the turnbuckles face-first, sunset flip for two, headscissors puts Carmella’s face into the turnbuckles again! Sasha pulling her up, jockeying for position... BANKS REVERSES THE AVALANCHE HURRICANRANA INTO A PIN OF HER OWN FOR TWO! Trading pinning predicaments, Carmella gets the Code of Silence square in the middle of the ring! Banks reverses but Carmella stays on her... RINGS OF SATURN!

Kicking away, Sasha reverses to a pin for two! Back and forth, Banks gets the Bank Statement crossface but the sommelier pulls Carmella out of the ring! Referee Rod Zapata protests but doesn’t throw the match out as Banks hits Meteora on him! Carmella with a kick, back inside, lateral press for two! Frustrated slaps, screaming at the champion, X-Factor countered into the crossface! It’s over!

Sasha Banks wins by submission with the Bank Statement crossface to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.


Asuka is stretching backstage when Billie Kay rolls up with her resume to try and sell her on her bonafides as a tag partner.

Asuka tells her she must have misunderstood because the position has been filled and she’s not ready for Asuka.

New Day are interviewed in Gorilla Position where they talk about how this match will be no different from their last matches against the Hurt Business.

Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin) vs. New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (c) (WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)

Kingston with a vicious kick to Alexander at the bell, follow it up with a Russian legsweep, tag to Woods, off the top with a diving leg drop... NOPE! Pressing the attack, Cedric gets away and tags Benjamin in. Lariat, straight suplex, cover for two! Montel Vontavious Porter gives Alexander some water on the floor as Shelton plants Xavier with a spinebuster!

Off the ropes, Woods ducking and dodging before hitting a rolling elbow! Drop toehold puts him into the ropes, off the ropes, senton/dropkick after the blind tag and Kofi comes in with a diving stomp for two! Kick to the midsection, tornado DDT, still no! Whip across, back body drop to the apron, Benjamin with a hard knee before throwing Xavier into the bottom turnbuckle!

Tag to Cedric, kneeling rear chinlock and we’re in the heat segment now, quick tags and all. Kingston with the hot tag, clearing house, off the ropes, leaping lariat! Boom Drop attempt, Shelton counters, tag to Cedric but Kofi rolls through and avoids the double team! SOS... NOT ENOUGH! Alexander ducks Trouble in Paradise, Kingston slips out of Lumbar Check, back and forth, knee sets up a brainbuster... WOODS BREAKS IT UP!

Benjamin comes in to brawl with Xavier, boot into a Neuralyzer, Paydirt and Woods is neutralized! Cedric tags out, Shelton draws Kofi up, he slips out, superkick! Enzuigiri to Alexander, gamengiri to Benjamin, Kingston up top, headbutts, jockeying for position... SHELTON WITH A SUPERPLEX! Cedric tags in...

Hurt Business win by pinfall with Lumbar Check from Cedric Alexander on Kofi Kingston to win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship.


Backstage, Sami Zayn berates Kayla Braxton for breaching his trust by uploading that audio of him yelling at her.

He asks who sent it to her, but she refuses to reveal her sources, so he pitches a fit.

Asuka’s tag partner is... Charlotte Flair!

Asuka & Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (c) (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)

Asuka and Baszler to start, mat grappling quickly gives way to kicks from Shayna. The Empress picks the leg, chest kicks of her own, into an armbar takedown that forces the Queen of Spades to struggle to her fate and look for the bicep stomp but Asuka slips away and tags Flair in! Going right for the figure four leglock, Baszler fights out and Charlotte tells her she wants Jax!

Nia tags in, go-behind, she rams Flair into the turnbuckles until she breaks but the Queen immediately grabs a side headlock. Shot off, shoulder block, Jax is unmoved! Front kick, back to the headlock, Asuka tags in and lights Nia up with leg kicks! Whip reversed, back elbow out of the ropes, Codebreaker connects! Sunset flip attempt denied, Jax lands a hard headbutt and throws Asuka into the post!

Tag to Baszler, bicep stomp and the champions work Asuka over at length, targeting the arm to break her down. Eventually Flair tags back in, lighting Jax up with chop after chop! Off the ropes, big boot, Shayna back in and Charlotte cuts her off with an exploder suplex into a kip-up! Back to Nia, stomping her knee in the corner, another big boot... SO CLOSE!

Champs on the floor, Charlotte hits her moonsault to the floor and puts Jax back inside! Samoan Drop blocked, blind tag to Asuka, Samoan Drop connects but Asuka comes right off the top with a missile dropkick! Baszler tags in, arm wringer, reversed, Asuka Lock blocked, Kirifuda Clutch is in but Flair tags back in! STO backbreaker / reverse STO into the turnbuckles combo, a boot takes Nia off the apron, Kirifuda Clutch, reversed, reversed into a pin for two!

Figure four leglock applied in the middle of the ring, bridging back... NIA BREAKS THE BRIDGE! Hip attack off the apron takes Jax out, Kirifuda Clutch applied, Flair rolls through and reverses to a pin for two! Front flip...

Asuka & Charlotte Flair win by pinfall with Natural Selection from Flair on Shayna Baszler to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Post-match we see Ric Flair hanging out in Gorilla and celebrating his daughter’s comeback victory.


Backstage, R-Truth and Big E are hanging out and laughing when Sami Zayn rolls up.

He accuses E of leaking the audio but Big says he didn’t do it. Truth points out that your lips don’t touch when you say the word “touch,” but they do when you say “separate.” Sami insults them both and E gets in his face and warns him to keep playing as Truth beats a hasty retreat.

Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns (c) (WWE Universal Championship Tables, Ladder, & Chairs Match)

Owens blasts Reigns during his entrance and beats him down! Boots in the corner set up the cannonball! Roman to the floor, Kev follows after him and throws him into the barricade! Cannonball against the barricade! Putting Reigns into the steel steps... FROG SPLASH OFF THE APRON! Jey Uso comes to the ring and KO takes him out with a superkick! Action to the floor and he counters a superkick with a chairshot!

Hammering Uso’s leg with the chair, Pillmanizing it, leaving Jey writhing in agony! Referees swarm to help Uso to the back as Reigns recovers and hits the Drive-By! The Big Dog grabs some steel steps and blasts Owens with ‘em! Back inside, Roman uses a ladder as a weapon, smashing Kev with it! He brings a chair in and brutalizes KO with it, but Owens refuses to slump, throwing desperate punches!

Fight out of a fireman’s carry, looking for a powerbomb... ROMAN BACK BODY DROPS HIM THROUGH SOME CHAIRS! The Big Dog sets up a ladder and starts climbing, but KO cuts him off with a steel chair! Walloping him with it, following it with a fisherman suplex on a chair! Climbing the ladder, he’s got a hand on the title but Jey Uso comes back and pulls him down!

They do some Frye/Takayama punches until Reigns hits a Superman Punch! Uso tips the ladder over and goes to get a table from the floor! Two tables in the ring, they set them up but Kev rallies with kicks! Superkick to Uso, Stunner to Reigns! Owens takes Jey to the floor and powerbombs him through the announce table! He buries Uso under table fragments and an office chair!

Climbing the ladder, Roman recovers and they brawl on it until Reigns pulls him down. Trading punches, superkick denied... POWERBOMB INTO A LADDER! BACK SUPLEX INTO THE EDGE OF THE LADDER! KO falls to the floor and Reigns lifts him up... CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE TABLE! A Samoan Drop through a table follows and the Big Dog climbs the ladder only for Kevin Owens to be barely hanging onto his foot!

An amused Reigns steps down and jaws at him, telling him he’s embarrassing his family and disdainfully slapping at his face. Kev fires back with a whole-hog slap across the face... AND ROMAN SPEARS HIM THROUGH A TABLE LEANING IN THE CORNER! Owens tells him he’ll have to kill him, and Reigns charges... BUT OWENS SIDESTEPS AND ROMAN CRASHES THROUGH THE TIMEKEEPER’S BARRICADE!

KO climbing, stretching, the title is in his grasp but Roman returns to the ring to pull him down! He throws Owens into the ladder, denies a pop-up powerbomb by hitting a Superman Punch, off the ropes... POP-UP POWERBOMB THROUGH A TABLE! Kev climbing, reaching... BUT JEY USO IS BACK! HE CLIMBS THE LADDER TO CUT OWENS OFF! Headbutts, he knocks Jey down and touches the title again... BUT ROMAN CUTS HIM OFF WITH A LOW BLOW!

Guillotine choke applied, Reigns chokes him out until he falls down! He reaches out and unhooks the title...

Roman Reigns retrieves the title belt, retaining the WWE Universal Championship.


Commentary hypes up the Royal Rumble and announces that Sami Zayn will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Big E on SmackDown this week.

We are informed that the only way to win the Firefly Inferno match is to light any part of your opponent on fire. Sure.

Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton (Firefly Inferno Match)

The Fiend shrugs off Orton’s probing strikes, laughing and bellowing. RKO denied, in for a big right, pounding on Randy in the corner and hammering him down with headbutts! Stomps in the corner, Sister Abigail denied, throat thrust, off the ropes for the freight train crossbody! Drawing Orton up, Sister Abigail blocked with punches and he hits the back-to-back backbreaker!

Sister Abigail connects this time and the Viper falls to the floor, at which point Bray spreads his arms and the ringside area lights up with flame! Fighting to the floor, Wyatt takes his belt off and whips Randy with it before lighting it on fire! He whips it at Orton but he ducks and the belt gets burned up in the flames! He gets a pickaxe and swings it but again the Viper ducks!

Wyatt gets a rocking chair from ringside this time and douses it with gasoline! He leaks a trail of gasoline from the chair across the floor before going back to Randy and beating him down. He knocks Orton into the chair and pulls a lighter out, setting the gas ablaze but Randy gets away before the chair lights up! Bray gets the steel steps and charges but the Viper wallops him with an axe handle to block!

Smashing the Fiend with the steps, blasting him into the barricade! They brawl around the ring and back inside, axe handle lit on fire, Orton blocks him and hits the hanging DDT to the floor! Wyatt fires up, Mandible Claw applied, fighting near the flames... BRAY IS ON FIRE! IT’S OVER!

Randy Orton wins by lighting Bray Wyatt on fire.

They go back in the ring and Orton hits an RKO on a burning Wyatt for good measure. He goes and gets the gas and dumps a bunch on the Fiend, bringing a box of matches into the ring and lighting one... AND SETTING WYATT ABLAZE!

The flames pulse.

Orton stands tall.
