WWE Raw viewership hits record low

WWE.com

WWE hasn’t been offering particularly compelling television for some time now and viewership for what was formerly its flagship program has reflected as much.

Indeed, this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw drew just 1.53 million viewers with a 0.41 in the 18-49 demographic. We’re talking all time low numbers for a program that has been on the air since 1993.

The hourly breakdown shows interest just wasn’t there:

Hour one: 1.63 million
Hour two: 1.51 million
Hour three: 1.44 million

Monday Night Football took plenty of viewers, of course, with the Ravens win over the Browns drawing over 12 million viewers for ESPN. But we’re to a point now, as the Wrestling Observer points out, that AEW is competing with Raw in coveted demographics. The pandemic certainly hasn’t helped matters but the ratings decline has been steady for a number of years.

We’ll see if 2021 proves better for WWE on television than 2020 did.
