Well, this is certainly one way to book this.
Lana has been getting bullied by Nia Jax for months now, and instead of building to a big singles showdown between the two, WWE aligned her with Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and has the two of them squading up to go after the women’s tag team titles held by Jax and Shayna Baszler. In advance of that match, which will take place at TLC, Lana wrestled Jax in a singles match on Monday Night Raw this week.
And she won:

Considering the entire program has been built on Lana getting put through tables and finally standing up to her bully, why pay it off in a tag program — even if Jax is the champion — instead of, well, like this? It’s enough to make one wonder if the idea all along was never to allow Lana to get over and this victory, made smaller by the fact that she was immediately beaten down and injured just after it, is all she’s ever going to get.
I guess we’ll see.
