Sasha Banks retains SmackDown women’s title in rematch with Bayley

New, comments

WWE wasted no time getting right to Bayley challenging Sasha Banks for the SmackDown women’s championship on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, as they opened the show with it. It was a rematch from Hell in a Cell, where Banks defeated Bayley in an incredible Hell in a Cell match.

They put together yet another strong showing. This time, the story was Bayley trying to cheat and Banks putting a stop to it. The challenger threw everything she had at the champion from there, including a backstabber into Bayley-2-Belly and that wasn’t enough to get the pinfall to win the title back.

Instead, Banks slammed the door with her finish, the backstabber into the Bank Statement and Bayley tapped in the middle of the ring. Banks, then, finally successfully defended her championship.

What’s next for Bayley? Time will tell.

Before we could even get to any question on what could be next for Sasha, she was attacked at the top of the stage by Carmella. It looks like her next program is already in motion.
