Watching votes get counted is way more interesting than AEW or NXT

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Nov. 4) NXT and AEW television shows.

Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 717,000 viewers for a .30 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 610,000 viewers for a .14 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.

For AEW, this is a decline of about 64,000 viewers from the prior week, with a decrease from last week’s 0.32 demo rating. For NXT, viewership plummeted by 266,000 viewers from the prior week, and the demo rating was way down from last week’s 0.25.

AEW fell from 12th to 56th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT fell from 21st to 68th place.

The ordinal ranking in the demo rating tells you all you need to know here. The series finale of the United States of America has dominated television all week long, and pro wrestling was squashed on Wednesday night as a result. NXT is probably most disappointed by the fact that this was an impossible week to retain any of those extra viewers they picked up last week with Halloween Havoc. However, AEW was trying to convince fans to buy their Full Gear pay-per-view this weekend (Nov. 7), and this wasn’t an ideal week for getting television eyeballs on their product.

Other than that, I’m not reading too much into these numbers, because there are clearly more pressing matters to focus on this week than pro wrestling.

Total viewership for Wednesday night checked in at 1,327,000 pro wrestling fans.
