WWE SmackDown results, live blog (Nov. 27, 2020): Survivor Series fallout

WWE SmackDown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Nov. 27, 2020) with a show from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. This episode will include the fallout from Survivor Series 2020. Nothing specific is advertised yet, other than a vague video teasing we’ll find out what’s next for Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.

Come right back here at 8 p.m. ET when the SmackDown live blog kicks off once the show starts on FOX. It will be below this line here. (REMINDER: NO GIFS OR PICS ARE ALLOWED IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. OFFENDERS WILL BE BANNED.)

Ashes to ashes, funk to funky, we know Major Tom’s a junkie; strung out in heaven’s high, hitting an all-time low. Time and again I tell myself I’ll stay clean tonight, but here I am, liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you folks once again.

The show opens with Jey Uso making his entrance.

The gets on the mic and says what everyone should be talking about is the way Roman Reigns kicked Drew McIntyre’s ass at Survivor Series. He puts Drew over but his cousin over even harder, and—

Enter Roman Reigns, flanked by Paul Heyman as always.

Paul physically takes the mic from Jey and hands it to Roman, who has a sour look on his face.

He calls for the production truck to “play it” and we get a recap of the events of Survivor Series as they pertain to the men in the ring. He berates Jey for not following instructions and leaving, claiming instead that he didn’t need any help. He walks Uso through his logic about not being feared and respected enough to lead Team SmackDown, and how that reflects badly on the whole family.

He continues to berate Uso and leaves.

Jey follows after a moment.

Otis Dozovic makes his entrance for a match and Uso blindsides him with a steel chair, beating him with it over and over and over!

Referees come down and pull him away and we go to break

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw, as well as additional footage of Chad Gable helping Otis to the back during the break.

Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode make their entrance and get on the mic, mocking Otis for getting knocked out so soon after Thanksgiving and having a lot on his plate, y’know, like in catering. They call out Street Profits and say they want the tag titles.

Street Profits come out and mostly mock Ziggler for being a Shawn Michaels clone.

Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode vs. Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)

Profits with an early advantage, double-teaming Roode, Ziggler puts Dawkins on the floor but gets cut off with a right hand! Montez tags in, Robert runs interference, Cash Out but nobody’s home as Dolph rolls away and we go to break.

Back from commercial, heels in control and working Ford over now. Montez counters a Cobra Twist with a hip toss, crawling, but Ziggler gets the tag first and hits the Fameasser... DAWKINS BREAKS IT UP! Tearing at Ford’s eyes, back to the heat segment. Tags made, Angelo in hot, duck the lariat, big corkscrew elbow for Roode and a flapjack for Ziggler!

Overhead exploder suplex on Roo, spinning Stinger Splashes for both guys, spinning butterfly neckbreaker takes Dolph out! Sky High on Robert, tag made, Ford up top, he hits Cash Out but his ribs are hurting and Ziggler is able to break it up! Superkick takes Angelo out, Montez blocks one, enzuigiri sends Ziggler to the floor but Roode is ready...

Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode win by pinfall with a schoolboy pin and a handful of tights from Roode on Montez Ford.

We get a video package recapping the history between Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn.

Backstage, Daniel Bryan is interviewed.

He talks strategy for his match tonight and says it’s acceptance and zen tonight. He’s had to accept that Jey Uso has a devil on his shoulder and that Sami is more delusional than ever and sees himself as a master strategist, but what he does do is exploit every loophole to escape with the Intercontinental Championship every night.

Bryan is here to break his delusions and come for the title, and he’s gonna be one step closer to that goal after beating him tonight, and so we go to break.

Back from commercial, the Mysterio family (and Buddy Murphy) are interviewed backstage.

Rey Mysterio says the family stands together and it’s great to be past Seth Rollins, but there’s no paying what he did back. But he’s seen his son’s career kick off, his daughter turn into a mature, confident woman, and Buddy finally realized what a piece of garbage Rollins really is.

King Baron Corbin rolls up.

He takes issue with the idea that they’re one big happy family and says it’s a shame Rey couldn’t pass any of his talent on to Dominik, but he sure passed on his bad judgment and character. And is Murphy even going to be around next year?

The video tribute to the Undertaker’s career follows.

Sami Zayn makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Sami Zayn cuts a promo running down the many evils of American Thanksgiving.

He tells Daniel Bryan he had his chance at WrestleMania and he’s done nothing to earn a new title shot and clearly WWE management is just sabotaging him.

Dan cuts his promo off with an entrance...

Daniel Bryan vs. Sami Zayn

Circling, test of strength but Zayn backs away immediately and ducks to the corner. Again, both hands this time, Bryan wrestles him into a wristlock, takes him down, and stomps the bicep! Sami goes to the apron and demands time to check on his wrist, blaming Dan for stepping on his hair. American Dragon with an arm wringer, armbar, shot off, drop down, shoulder block!

Sami reverses, Bryan shifts gears, grabs a leg for a toehold and uses it for leverage to get a backhammer and wrench the arm back into a hammerlock! Zayn to his feet, back elbow, off the ropes, dropdown, dropkick from Dan for two! Whip across, Sami counters with a front kick and dumps him out of the ring!

Referee Jessika Carr begins her count, Bryan back in at six and Zayn immediately puts boots to him! Sami dumps him outside again and follows after this time, ramming him into the barricade and then throwing him back inside. Headed up top, Zayn perches but Bryan cuts him off and climbs to meet him. Jockeying for position, knock him down... THE AMERICAN DRAGON KNOCKS SAMI TO THE FLOOR WITH A RUNNING DROPKICK!

Plancha off the top, Zayn sidesteps and Dan goes crashing into the barricade to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Zayn punching away at the corner, a lariat follows, cover for two! Whip across, backflip up and over, off the ropes, Bryan with the Axe Bomber! Up top again, jockeying for position, avalanche Frankensteiner... NO GOOD! Posting Dan, setting him up... BRAINBUSTER ON THE APRON EL GENERICO STYLE!

Back inside, Blue Thunder Driver... NOT ENOUGH! Bryan recovers, he’s got the LeBell Lock but Sami gets a foot on the ropes and forces the break! To the floor, Dan hits a suicide dive and takes Zayn back inside! Sami runs away, Bryan follows, Carr counts but Sami returns at nine...

Sami Zayn wins by countout.

Backstage, Jey Uso is attacking Daniel Bryan when Kevin Owens makes the save! Referees show up and Owens throws Uso off! Jey tells Kev that he knows where he’ll be and Owens sticks around just long enough to get a referee check on Bryan before heading off after Jey to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Jey Uso has run to the safety of his cousin, Roman Reigns.

Kevin Owens rolls up and his big jab is to tell Reigns that for someone that says his family is so important, he sure treats them like trash.

Roman tells Jey to fix it.

Bayley makes her entrance to observe our next match from the commentary desk.

Bianca Belair vs. Natalya

Shot off, drop down, leapfrog, leapfrog, wheelbarrow into a victory roll, reversed, stalemate! Whip reversed, Belair up and over but Natalya sidesteps her into the post! Nattie puts boots to her, snap suplex, a followup blocked and reversed into a small package for two! Neidhart hits the discus lariat, not enough, she follows it up with a Romero Special!

Countered to a pin, Belair puts her into the turnbuckle, handspring into shoulder thrusts until referee Danilo Anfibio has to break it up! Bianca with the double chickenwing lift and she dumps Nattie to the floor! Following after, Bianca gets distracted by getting into it with Bayley, she lays her out and Natalya takes advantage!

Back inside, Bayley up on the apron, Nattie takes care of her but Bianca scoops her up...

Bianca Belair wins by pinfall with a pinning predicament.

We see Paul Heyman chatting backstage with five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce.

Buddy Murphy makes his entrance with the Mysterio family to send us to break.

King Baron Corbin vs. Buddy Murphy

Standing switch, Corbin backs him into the corner, letting him out, Rey Mysterio runs interference and Buddy is able to sidestep a charge and get a schoolboy for two. Kick combo connects but Baron cuts him off with a lariat, to the floor, Buddy cuts him off and drop toeholds him into the steel! Back inside, Deep Six connects, again Rey is running interference and Corbin yells at him.

Baron raining down punches, Dominik Mysterio runs interference this time but Corbin stays on target and keeps punching away, Buddy ducks a lariat, Dom with the distraction and he hits a knee, Mysterio pushes Baron’s leg off the rope...

Buddy Murphy wins by pinfall with a knee strike.

Post-match, Baron gets on the mic to whine that the match wasn’t one-on-one, calling the Mysterios spineless cowards and saying he wants a rematch next week, and he’ll be prepared.

We see Kevin Owens taping his wrists backstage to send us to break.

Backstage, Big E and Apollo Crews are playing an impromptu game of trash can basketball by the interview area when Sami Zayn rolls up.

He crows about his victory over Daniel Bryan and reminds Crews that he beat him a few weeks ago. Apollo gets hot but E calms him down and he leaves. Big points out that Sami’s winning streak is built on a shaky foundation and his margin of error is razor-thin and they both know that. One flick and the whole house of cards falls down.

Zayn says he’s disappointed that Big would try to diminish him like this and accuses him of sour grapes seeing as he hasn’t held the Intercontinental Championship for years. E crushes his hand in a ten-count handshake to point out that that is, in fact, a long time.

Asked if he still wants to do the interview, Sami shrieks that he wants to be left alone.

Billie Kay rolls up (literally, she’s sitting in an office chair) to the commentary desk to give Michael Cole her resume and ask for a commentary job, but Cole just cuts her mic.

Carmella gets a backstage promo where she says we all know why she’s here and what she’s done and talks about how she’s coming after Sasha Banks. She says she lost herself before and now she’s not doing anything for anyone besides herself and she calls all the shots. She snaps her fingers until a hand offers her a glass of some kind of liquid.

The hand pivots to reveal a “BOSS” ring and it’s Sasha Banks!

She beats Carmella down and locks the Bank Statement on until Pat Buck and five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce pull them apart!

Kevin Owens makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get some hype for tomorrow’s episode of Talking Smack.

Jey Uso vs. Kevin Owens

Collar and elbow, into the corner, Owens ducks a right hand and fires back with chops and punches that send Uso sprawling! Outside and back in, beating Jey down while Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman watch on a monitor backstage. Kev sends Uso to the floor, whip reversed and Owens goes hard into the steel steps!

Back inside, tying KO up in the ropes, wrenching his arm and forcing him to rake his eyes to fight him off! Trading heavy hands, Owens takes control and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Owens with the cannonball off the apron! Back inside, cover for two! Jey going back to work on the arm, double knee armbreaker, slamming it into the mat repeatedly, following it up with an armbar briefly before switching to a top wristlock. Letting go, lying in wait, but KO sidesteps the Ode to Rikishi and hits a superkick!

Both men down and out, back to their feet, a one-armed Kevin Owens wailing on him, but his arm gives out on the pop-up powerbomb and Jey hits a superkick... NO GOOD! Up top, Kev cuts him off and climbs to join him, headbutts to the injured arm knock him back down! Off the top, Owens gets the knees up, pumphandle... STEENBREAKER FOR A NEARFALL!

Stunner blocked, Uso puts his shoulder into the post a few times and goes and gets a steel chair. He wallops Owens with it and the referee has no choice but to call for the bell...

Kevin Owens wins by disqualification, although no finish is announced.

Post-match, Uso hits him with the chair a few more times and clears the announce desk before returning to the ring. KO with the kick to the gut into the Stunner! It’s Owens’ turn to get a chair now and he beats Jey down with it, asking if Roman is watching, calling his family pathetic and telling him if he wants people to fear him, well, he fears no one!

He punctuates that statement with another half-dozen chairshots before getting in the camera and making it clear that he isn’t afraid of Roman. He calls Reigns down and says he knows where to find him before getting back in the ring with Uso and hitting another Stunner!

He takes a seat at the commentary desk (the head of the table, you see) and pointedly tells Roman he’ll be waiting.

Roman is shown fuming backstage.

That’s the show, folks.
