WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR OCT. 9

I been to the edge, an’ there I stood an’ looked down. You know I lost a lot of friends there baby, I got no time to mess around... but I do have time to liveblog this here pro wrestling show, folks.

The show opens with Michael Cole and Corey Graves on commentary welcoming us to night one of the 2020 WWE Draft.

Stephanie McMahon makes her entrance to announce the first round of draft picks.

As their first draft pick, Raw picks WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

SmackDown picks WWE Universal Champion, Big Dog, and Tribal Chief Roman Reigns as their first pick.

Second picks, Raw selects WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka, and SmackDown selects Seth Rollins.

Raw picks the entire Hurt Business, including WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, as their final first round draft pick.

Seth Rollins is interviewed backstage about being drafted.

He’s thrilled to be making the jump, but a little upset that he won’t be there in person to watch the Mysterio family implode. But luckily for him, he never has to see their disgusting faces ever again.

Big E vs. Sheamus (Falls Count Anywhere Match)

Sheamus hot out the gates, big lariat into a Finlay Roll, not even a one count! Charging in, E catches him with the big corner Rock Bottom and catches his breath! Off the ropes... SUICIDE SPEAR! Cover on the floor, no dice and Big goes under the ring for some plunder. He discards some giant-sized Booty-Os and grabs a kendo stick, only for the Celtic Warrior to hit a hard knee for two of his own!

Continued brawling on the floor, Sheamus puts E on the apron for right hands before trapping his arms in the ropes! Ducking kicks, the Celtic Warrior pokes him with the kendo stick before teeing off on him! Finally Big wriggles out of the ropes and Sheamus covers him for a nearfall. E duct tapes Sheamus’ legs together while he’s under the ring looking for something!

Big wails on him with the kendo stick and sends him over the barricade and into the crowd area as we go to break!

Back from commercial, E is chasing Sheamus to the back with kendo stick shots! Bright red welts have formed all over the Celtic Warrior’s back, criss-crossing his flesh with angry red stripes. He slams Big onto some kind of table and hammers him with the kendo stick before dragging him over to a concession area that happens to have the raw ingredients for pancakes left out at it.

He pours flour all over E and grinds eggs into his face! He throws Big into a road case, dragging him along, putting boots to him up and down the corridors, at one point grabbing a computer monitor but E wallops him with a broom before he can bring it to bear, breaking the broom over the Celtic Warrior’s back!

Big breaks another broom over him before going over for a handy trash can and smashing it into his back repeatedly! He shoves Sheamus through a door to a loading dock with the trash can, forcing him to back up through a metal detector. E grabs some hand sanitizer on his way through, which is just the responsible thing to do really.

Sheamus crawling away and begging off, Big stalks after him... AND SHEAMUS HAS A CROWBAR! SHEAMUS HITS HIM HARD WITH THE CROWBAR AND DRAGS HIM ON TOP OF A CAR! WHITE NOISE INTO THE WINDSHIELD! Only a nearfall, the Celtic Warrior throws E into the driver’s seat and slams the door on him half a dozen times!

Big staggers away, collapsing to his hands and knees as Sheamus opens the trunk! He throws him in and pulls his arm out but E gets a foot up to stop him from slamming the trunk on his arm! Upkicks from inside the trunk, Sheamus staggered but he goes for the Brogue Kick... E SIDESTEPS AND HE KICKS THE TRUNK DOOR OFF THE CAR!

He goes for another Brogue Kick but E powerbombs him into the hood of another car! He throws Sheamus into the windshield, climbs up after him... BIG ENDING OFF THE CAR AND THROUGH A TABLE! IT’S OVER!

Big E wins by pinfall with the Big Ending off of a car and through a table.

Jey Uso makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Big E is interviewed backstage.

Before he can answer, Kofi Kingston moseys up to congratulate him on his victory... AND XAVIER WOODS IS HERE TOO! New Day is finally back together again, baby! But something is missing... the tag titles.

Back to the ring, Jey Uso gets on the mic and calls Roman Reigns out.

He asks what the stipulation to their match at Hell in a Cell is and paces a few moments waiting for a response. He doesn’t get one and says he gets it, Roman only comes out on his own terms, but it’s lockdown with the Uce that got the juice, and—

Paul Heyman cuts him off, appearing on the tron. He tells Jey to stop embarrassing himself by trying to dictate the appearance of the Universal Champion, because that’s at the champ’s leisure and discretion. Reigns applauds his tenacity, but if you get too ambitious and step into the ring, well, he rolls footage of Roman beating the holy hell out of Jey in their match last month.

Roman appears on the tron and says when he was a kid, his dad— Jey’s uncle— said in this business, to believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see, but what you just saw... you can believe that. He tried to help Jey, to make his life better, and all he had to do was say the words.

Acknowledge him as tribal chief, so now, for the first time, inside Hell in a Cell, there will be an “I Quit” match. But, he warns him, there will be consequences.

Stephanie McMahon is seen chatting with five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce to send us to break.

Somebody rolls up and serves Otis some papers, and they examine them, and they turn out to be a continuance as Miz’s lawyer delays the hearing.

Sasha Banks cuts a promo backstage.

She calls Bayley a coward and says she should have seen the intentional disqualification coming, so she challenges Bayley to a Hell in a Cell match, promising to break her.

The Fiend makes his entrance to send us to break.
