WWE’s named a third woman to their Board of Directors, and she’s a big name.
Erika Nardini became Barstool Sports first CEO in 2016 after working as an executive in Big Tech at companies like Yahoo and Microsoft. She’s helped the popular but controversial sports media company expand into new areas, most notably gambling via a stake in Penn National Gaming.
Wrestling Observer notes WWE “will look to utilize her [Nardini’s] experience attracting and retaining young males to the Barstool brand.”
In his company’s press release announcing the move, CEO & Chairman Vince McMahon is quoted as saying:
“During her tenure at Barstool Sports, Nardini has launched more than 35 brands, including breakout franchises in sports, entertainment, female lifestyle, business and sports betting. She also spearheaded the development of more than 1,500 social accounts, a top channel on SiriusXM and the #1 selling flavored vodka in North America, Pink Whitney.”
Nardini joins Stephanie McMahon and former Travel Channel President Laureen Ong as female members on WWE’s 12 person Board.
