Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were scheduled to defend the WWE women’s tag team titles at Clash of Champions just over one week ago but they were put on the shelf because, at least as WWE put it, they weren’t “medically cleared.”
After just a couple shows away, they returned on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, were The Riott Squad got the the championship match they earned by defeating The IIconics last month.
It wasn’t much of a match.
Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan were giving a shockingly small amount of time on offense, more ore less taking a beating all the way through. Morgan showed some life on a hot tag, but that was quickly shut down and eventually she was forced to watch Riott submit to Baszler while being held back by Jax.
Beyond the Riott Squad, there are no clear contenders for the women’s tag team titles, so this was a baffling result.
