Thanks to crooked judge JBL, The Miz was given a chance to win the Money in the Bank contract from Otis at tonight’s (Sun., Oct., 25, 2020) WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) from the ThunderDome at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Rumors have persisted that there have been multiple ideas pitched to get the contract off Otis, and this is where we would learn if there was any merit to said rumors.
Sadly, there was indeed.
Otis was more or less handling Miz, and it seemed he was well on his way to victory. John Morrison attempted to interfere and was caught up by the referee, who threw him out. His retreat left Miz by himself, with Tucker ringside cheering Otis on, and the result seemed inevitable.
Then, a shock.
While being sent into the ropes, Otis was on the receiving end of a brutal shot with the Money in the Bank briefcase by none other than his former Heavy Machinery teammate. The betrayal cost him the contract, as The Miz scored the pin just after.
When asked why he turned on Otis, Tucker complained about being an afterthought. Otis took up too much of the spotlight and he was good and tired of it. This is a bit strange, considering the draft just happened and these two are on different brands but Survivor Series is right around the corner.
