Angel Garza says he suffered a quad tear at WWE Clash of Champions

WWE.com

The Raw Tag title match at Clash of Champions last Sunday (Sept. 27) ended abruptly. Reports soon followed that Angel Garza suffered an injury which caused Andrade, Street Profits, and the referee to rush to a finish. Other than that it was a lower body injury, there was no definitive update on what happened, however.

Garza provided that update himself on his official YouTube channel (thanks to Fightful’s Carlos Toro and our own Manolo H. Pizzazz for translation assistance).

When Angel went to hit Montez Ford with a knee strike, he put too much weight on his plant leg and heard a “pop.” He thought about trying to be a superman and work through it, but decided not to risk making the injury worse. He communicated that to the referee and his tag partner, and they took the match home.

It was probably a smart decision, as Garza said the initial tests reveal he suffered a minor quad tear. He has more evaluations to go through, but he’s hoping to be out less than a month - “a week to three weeks.”

Overall, that’s good news. Join us in sending best wishes to Angel for a full and speedy recovery.
