The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Sept. 30) NXT and AEW television shows.
Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 866,000 viewers for a .33 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 732,000 viewers for a .19 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.
For AEW, this is an increase of about 31,000 viewers from the prior week, and a slight uptick from last week’s 0.32 demo rating. For NXT, viewership increased by about 36,000 viewers from the prior week, and the demo rating was up from last week’s 0.18.
AEW fell from 9th to 12th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT dropped from 38th to 50th place.
There was some stiff competition on television last night, with Game 1 of the NBA Finals, MLB playoffs, South Park’s pandemic special, and cable news talking heads continuing to discuss the first presidential debate. The ratings and viewership results for NXT and AEW remained in a similar range from the past couple weeks, but they both fell in the ordinal rankings for the demo rating, partially because of the extra baseball competition.
It’s worth pointing out that an entry titled “Baseball Rain Delay” drew 1,728,000 viewers and ranked third in the demo rating for the night with a 0.47. It turns out that watching water fall onto an empty baseball field in Cleveland is a decent draw. Maybe watching paint dry on a wall hasn’t gotten the respect it deserves over the years.
