The card for NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II looks set

WWE.com

Given the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic’s mix of teams from NXT’s two branches, many fans were disappointed to not see 2019 semi-finalists Moustache Mountain in the field.

But Trent Seven and Tyler Bate have been focused on their singles career since their quest to prevent Imperium from gaining a stranglehold over NXT UK came up short last year. And they’ll both be dealing with their own personal rivalries when the brand gets its third live WWE Network special next Sunday (Jan. 12).

The official announcements came on the episode of NXT UK which debuted yesterday (Thurs., Jan. 2) on the streaming service. Bate will face Jordan Devlin in a story which goes all the way back to last summer’s TakeOver: Cardiff show, when the Irishman was left off the card while Tyler got a shot at WALTER and the United Kingdom championship.

Bate’s mentor Seven gets Eddie Dennis, who’s just back from a six month rehabilitation from surgery to repair a pectoral tear. Since returning, Dennis has been stalking Trent’s appearances and matches on the show, and looks to be trying to make a statement by defeating NXT UK’s father figure at TakeOver.

These additions make five matches for the brand’s return to the Empress Ballroom:

- WALTER (c) vs. Joe Coffey for the WWE United Kingdom championship

- Piper Niven vs. Kay Lee Ray (c) vs. Toni Storm in a Triple Threat for the NXT UK Women’s title

- Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (c) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) vs. South Wales Subculture (vs. Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster) vs. Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner) in ladder match for the NXT UK Tag Team championship

- Tyler Bate vs. Jordan Devlin

- Trent Seven vs. Eddie Dennis

Like what you see? You can watch it play out on Jan. 12 at noon Eastern time on WWE Network.
