According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Andrade has been suspended for 30 days by WWE for a violation of the company’s Wellness Policy. It is his first violation, and he was informed of as much this morning.
This comes just one night after he retained the United States championship in a match against Humberto Carrillo at Royal Rumble. Despite the suspension, he was still booked for Monday Night Raw this week, where he again defended the title against Carrillo. Said match ended via disqualification, leaving the title with Andrade, but saw Carrillo DDT him onto the exposed floor on the outside. It was played like an injury angle and now we know it will act as a write off for his character for the next month.
WWE has yet to announce the suspension but the report indicates that will be coming soon.
More on this as it becomes available.
