Just stop announcing who will be in the Royal Rumble

One of the best things about the Royal Rumble each year are the surprises we get within the match. If we know who is going to be in the match beforehand, that doesn’t leave room for a shocking return, or big debut, or call up, or whatever. WWE should just stop doing it.

It’s even worse when they announce a bunch of names and then just change it anyway.

Here’s who was announced for the men’s Royal Rumble before the match:

That would be five wrestlers who were announced for the match who did not appear in it. Otis, Tucker, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, and Buddy Murphy all declared and none actually appeared, with only Rusev and Lashley getting an explanation on the live broadcast. Robert Roode, Cesaro, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Keith Lee, Karl Anderson, Matt Riddle, and Luke Gallows were all in the Rumble without being confirmed as entrants beforehand.

The long and short of it is they don’t need to ever advertise any names for the Rumble and then not deliver on them if they just don’t announce them in the first place. Literally no one on Earth will be upset about it.

We don’t want to know who is in until they’re actually in anyway!
