Shortly after Edge returned and entered the Royal Rumble in Houston, he executed a Spear on AJ Styles. It looked beautiful, because Styles did a full flip to sell it, but he landed strange and immediately started holding his arm up to his shoulder.
At that point, it appeared he couldn’t lift said arm. Baron Corbin picked him up to throw a punch but there was some brief communication between the two and after just one blow, Corbin backed off. Styles could then be seen going to Edge, communicating with him, and Edge immediately throwing Styles out.
He was then attended to and now we know he was indeed injured.
PW Insider is reporting Styles was examined as soon as he got backstage and ended the night with his arm wrapped. The next step is testing to determine the extent of the injury.
The timing is awful, considering we’re just kicking off WrestleMania season proper. Let’s hope for the best for one of the top performers on the entire WWE roster.
