There’s no TakeOver this weekend before Royal Rumble, but that doesn’t mean NXT won’t have a show.
That show is Worlds Collide, there are some pretty interesting matches on the card. For several of them, though, they’re not matches with a ton of backstory aside from the overall NXT vs. NXT UK theme.
A just announced Worlds Collide pre-show match, on the just announced pre-show, fits in that category.
This Saturday, the action begins on the #WorldsCollide Pre-Show when @MiaYim battles #NXTUK Women’s Champion @Kay_Lee_Ray! https://t.co/hAXoDERYwT

A non-title showdown between NXT UK Women’s champ Kay Lee Ray and Mia Yim should be fun. There’s even a bit of history thanks to the build to WarGames, where Ray was on Shayna Baszler’s team and Yim was on Rhea Ripley’s until a night-of attack by Dakota Kai took her out of the match.
Yim, Ray and the pre-show will happen before this card goes on in Houston’s Toyota Center on Sat., Jan. 25:
- Imperium (WALTER, Alexander Wolfe, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) vs. Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly)
- Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Toni Storm
- #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) vs. Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven)
- Ilja Dragunov vs. Finn Bálor
We’ll have coverage of the show, starting with the pre-show at 6:30 p.m. Eastern, right here at Cageside Seats.
